003; accidental video

[ There's nothing but a blur of blue at first, a muffled groan somewhere. ]

What in the actual fu--

[ A pause, a gasp, and then the sound of running feet. ]

Dirk!

[ THUD. A second later, the SFC that's on has tumbled out of the pocket it was in and lands on the ground, showing the current scene a little sideways.

Roxy's laying on top of Dirk, her arms wrapped awkwardly around him, and she has her face buried in his chest. They're wearing some interesting outfits (nice pants, Dirk), but that seems to be the last thing on their minds. ]

You're okay! I thought you weren't because fuck the Batterwitch but you are you're okay and I'm okay and nothing is going on and look! We're back and-- you know what I probably shouldn't be laying on top of you should I. Lemme just...

[ She caaaaaaaaaaassually slides off of him and picks up her SFC, shutting it again and turning it back off. ]

((ooc; ps dirk and roxy are back from their update 8U replies will probably come from both))

In your universe, you don't. The game is a special one, to say the least. Can't speak for why this is the default, but it is. Like hell I'm going to go around wearing it all the time.

[Asuka sighs.]

Then explain to me what's so special about it, because I'm still not following at all.

If you insist.

There's a game called Sburb. It affects reality, in that it has the ability to take you from your own world and move you into the universe of the game. Each player gets a world to themselves, where they're supposed to quest and accomplish various tasks. This game can also be deadly. Players get a "second chance" in the form of a dreamself that exists within a game. If they die, there's a revival mechanism that can wake them up in their dreamself, their second body, and let them keep on.

The other method of revival is more complicated, because it requires dying on a quest bed within either your world or the moons of two of the games' specific planets. Dying on a quest bed results in ascension to God Tier, which causes godlike powers and conditional immortality, as I said.

[To her credit, Asuka does listen intently to the whole thing, and takes what time she needs to process it, but...]

I followed what you said about as well as you could hope, but it still sounds so weird and out of the ordinary that I hardly get it even now. Part of me keeps hoping that someday I'm going to wake up and all this crazy nonsense will have been a long dream.

[She runs a hand through her hair.]

What are these godlike powers you got from it, then? They better be good if they have to make up for that costume.

I don't even fucking know. I'm a Prince of Heart, which according to my info is a "destroyer of souls," and an active class so I ought to have powers that can manifest, but I haven't figured out how to manifest them, and destroying souls isn't exactly something I want to fuck around with testing here in the bubble.

It comes with a general power boost anyway, so the lack of aspect ability isn't much of a bummer.
