[Hi, Vatheon, here's a face you haven't seen in a little while. Link waves sleepily, still kind of groggy after, well, sleeping for a month.]

[Again.]

Hi, everyone. I guess I fell asleep again, huh? It's okay, I've already been to the coral. [Indeed, he woke up there.]

Um... have I missed anything important?

Well, the more trees, the better! [He grins, considering for a moment.] Maybe if there were trees from the forest planted in other places, they could go there. Like a bit of the forest that's outside it.

That must have been my reasoning, as well. I will be sure to bring it up with the Deku Sprout. Having more trees around certainly wouldn't hurt anything, anyway.

[Oh, here Link just woke up and she's already chattering at him...]

I apologize, you must be hungry. Would you like to get something to eat?

[Yes, his stomach is definitely concurring with that.]

Oh - uh, yeah, that'd be a good idea. [He smiles sheepishly, scratching at the back of his head.] What did I miss while I was asleep? You can tell me while we walk.

[Zelda's fairly animated as she discusses the curses Link has missed, but the closer she draws to speaking about the present day, the more awkward she becomes. It seems... strange to speak with Link about Valentine's Day. She didn't think much of the foreign holiday the year before, but this time she knows what it means. Once, if she'd had the nerve, she would have wanted to give chocolate to him.

A large part of her still wants that.

She shakes her head. Thankfully, the brief pause in her monologue was long enough for them to reach the cafe.]

...nothing else all that important, really. Zelda is asleep now. Our house seems to have come down with narcolepsy!

Wow, really? [Link has been listening attentively, and he chuckles a little at the description.] Is she getting used to Vatheon now? It's been a couple of months now, right?

I think she is.

[The dream her ancestor had isn't mentioned either. Her and the first Link getting married... the princess settles down at a table, smiling gratefully at the waitress.]

I'll just have some water, please. I ate recently.

[Link goes for a nice big salad sandwich... and a side of fries... and hot chocolate, then sits back contentedly.] That's good. It's a good thing that Ghirahim guy isn't here any more, huh?

I... am not sure. Before he was returned to his own body, he confessed to me that he was not always so cruel. He's been warped by the same great evil we are destined to fight. I think he was learning to overcome that before he left.

[It probably is for the best, though. Skyloft's Link and Zelda would likely try to fight him.]

I guess... [He looks briefly pensive.] Sola said he was getting better. But I guess he's gone back to the way he was now, huh?

[With a little sigh, he sits back. It's related to something that's been weighing on his mind since he woke up.]

I wish I knew for sure that people will be safe in the future. Especially in - [Steeling himself, briefly -] Especially in my time. I can't do anything to help any more, and I want to know that... well, that everything will be okay.

...everything will be. No matter the timeline, I assure you that I would not allow Ganondorf to have his way with Hyrule. Not forever. You awakened all the Sages. I believe we would be able to do the rest.

[Strangely enough, she sounds confident. It's something she's thought on too, though, and this is the conclusion she's come to.]

He shall not win. I promise you.

[The smile he gives Zelda is small and tentative, but there's genuine relief in his expression.] I know. I think you're a lot tougher than you think you are. And - if there is a cycle, then that means that there'll be another hero one day.

That... is true. That is true, isn't it? The hero will always be reborn.

[So even in that timeline, they'll meet again. Why hadn't that occurred to her before? Somehow, it's intensely relieving.]

[He nods, smiling a little less tentatively, the moment broken as their drinks arrive.] It'd be interesting if he - the next one, I mean - came here. It'd be nice knowing that things are okay. And - [He adds this with a little laugh - ] There'd be two Links again as well as two Zeldas

Oh! I did not finish telling you everything, did I? Skyloft's Link has returned as well.

[And he's dating Skyloft's Zelda! Really it's not awkward... at all...]

Oh! Really? [Yup, he's looking distinctly pleased about that.] Does he remember being here the first time?

[Now, Zelda, why would that be awkward, hmm?]

He does not, but he has settled in to the idea of having descendants quite easily.

[She forces herself to just focus on the good parts of having Skyloft's Link around, smiling again.]

At least this time I know to not let him use the kitchen unsupervised!

I'll have to meet him again.

[Family again, huh? He's smiling a bit at the idea.]

What happened with the kitchen?

He started a bit of a fire in his kitchen the last time he was here. I'd like to avoid that happening again, particularly since he's in the same house as us.

[There are two kitchens so they COULD spare one, but she'd really rather not!]

Oh - right, he's living at Ordo too? How many people is that, now? [He sounds pretty amused - living in a big house is actually rather nice.]

That makes five of us. It is a good thing we have two houses combined into one!

[Honestly, Zelda's quite happy this way. Growing up in the castle, she became used to living in a larger place with a lot of people. Of course, she wasn't close to a ton of people there, but she grew used to the noise.]

So... [Hang on, let him work this out.] There's two Links and two Zeldas and Zelos? ...Maybe me and the other Link should get nicknames, too. [Confusing, but... kind of nice, too. It's still pretty new for Link - having his own little treehouse since he was tiny and all - but he's enjoying it.]

What would you like to be called, then?

[She can think of a few things, but Zelda would like to hear what Link might come up with himself. Would he be upset if they called him Kokiri?]

[Link blinks once at that, not really expecting the question. Choosing his own name? How are people meant to do that, anyway?]

[He makes a thoughtful sound, chewing on his lip, considering. What are the main differences?]

He's from the sky, right? [He says it slowly, frowning thoughtfully.] And I'm from the forest, so... maybe Forest. [He shrugs self-consciously - it sounds kind of strange.] Maybe... I've never had any nickname aside from Fairy Boy or Mister No-Fairy.

[And, uh. From his expression, clearly not a fan of those.]

Forest would suit you. If you want to be named after the forest, Kokiri might as well? You could be Link Kokiri, and he could be Link Skyloft.

[Link should really have a last name anyway, in her opinion.]

[Link doesn't answer immediately, a pensive look on his face before he shakes his head once.] I'd prefer Forest, I think. [He says it quietly, not quite meeting Zelda's gaze.] I mean, I'm not - I never was a Kokiri. But...

[A tentative smile.] I have lived in forests in Hyrule and Vatheon. And I like them a lot.
