[It's been months since then, and Gale still remembers her, even if he has been avoided. He doesn't blame her for it. He's mostly grateful that they were able to return the demon.]

We are not considering it again, particularly when the option to deal with our hunger without devouring is being discussed. Nevertheless, the demons... one wonders it Nirvana can be achieved as long as they are with us.

Surely it can. We have not even discovered exactly what magnetite is just yet, I have faith that with the gathered knowledge of so many worlds we will be able to create a substitute. Until then... I suppose the city has provided for you.

It has. We do not face penalties for the deaths of the locals the way we might for other foreigners. It is strange that the Head Nurse would allow this exception, but for that reason. Nevertheless, when we can turn away from hunting, we will be glad for it.

[Though some of the only tests she can think of now will require her presence. It will be extremely uncomfortable, but it will be worth it if it means that such kind people aren't forced to kill others just to keep their sanity.]

It is only at a seeming whim that we are kept here, and I was returned home briefly, as were most of the members of the tribe. Others from our world have come and gone. That we have remained together for this amount of time is worthy of note, I believe.

How would you define those circumstances?

Mainly negative treatment of others that can extend to cruelty. Could you say any person can live with that while trying to retain emotions?

And if there was no distinction between the emotions you lost? Anger, as well as joy. Sadness, as well as love. Pride, anger, compassion... For what reason would you give up all of these?

Then I would take them all, at all costs. It isn't worth it to lose love, and joy, and peace, simply because you feel sadness, anger, and pride as well.

Before you arrived in Vatheon, Serph, Cielo and I approached several others about potentially removing the demons, to prevent us from having to devour. However, when the demon was removed, emotions were removed with it. The result was not deemed worth that cost.

It is unsustainable in an enclosed environment such as this, and dishonorable to prey on the innocent. I will not stand it a moment longer than it must be used. There are penalties in his place, for killing, and we cannot afford to amass those every week.
