[The SFC shows two bare grey feet padding along the ground, climbing up stairs carefully and quietly before a door is pushed open with a muffled giggle followed by a surprised, kittenish squeak.]

Shhh. The fursome hunters must appurroach their purrey quietly and undetected!

[This whispered declaration is answered by a tiny mew as their quarry comes into view, deeply asleep and unsuspecting. His long dark hair is spread out smooth and sleek on the pillow, and as the fierce predator leans over him in his sleep her tiny furry partner is placed carefully on his head, squarely between his horns.

She then scampers back to hide behind the door, still filming as the little white kitten shakes itself and starts climbing down the blueblood's face.

This is going to be interesting.]

[Nepeta stifles another giggle - she knows Equius has too good control of himself to ever swat at anything, even in his sleep, so she's not worried about her kitten's safety. She makes a small purring sound, one which Pounce lifts her head to listen to and replies with a louder, if higher-pitched, purr of her own.]

[The purring starts to roust Equius from sleep, and he mumbles something unintelligible before making a grumbling noise.]

Stop it.

[But she's not doing anything! Pounce side-eyes the troll whose face she's standing on, unsure whether she approves or not. Slowly and quite deliberately, she raises a paw and bats him on the nose.]

[That wakes him up! Equius opens his eyes crankily, and finds his vision obscured by fluffy white fur. He freezes, suddenly realizing he's got a small animal perched on his face, his entire body going rigid and tense.]

[Well now! It seems this new troll is awake. Pounce decides that perhaps he'll be a bit less cranky if she gives his face a good grooming for him. Yes, that is certainly an excellent idea.

Nepeta, in the meantime, is rolling about trying not to laugh out loud.]

[Ewwwww, fish breath.]

[Equius stays as still as a statue, and it doesn't take him long to hear his moirail's laughter.]

Nepeta, come and get this purrbeast off my face.

But she wants to make friends, Equius!

[She bounces over to the edge of the bed, but doesn't do a thing to make Pounce leave him alone.]

[The kitten, realizing her perch is awake, puts a paw very carefully over Equius' eye.]

I'm going to hurt her if you don't move her!

[He doesn't say that as a threat, but as a slightly terrified matter of fact.]

Relax, Equius.

[She leans over to pap his cheek comfortingly, and Pounce decides that this means she must pat the opposite cheek too.]

You won't hurt her!

[He doesn't mind Nepeta papping him at all, but he takes umbrage to the kitten doing it. She digs in her catbox with those feet, Nepeta.]

I can't move her.

...why would you want to move her? You both look adorable!

[She gazes at him with wide, appreciative eyes. He doesn't want to know where Nepeta digs with her hands.] It's almost like the cute pictures we used to send each other!

[He chooses not to think about it.]

Because I'll be stuck here until she decides to move, and that could be hours if she decides to nap?

But she's not napping! She wants to play!

[Pounce promptly tumbles off his face and onto his chest, remaining there waving her paws in the air.]

[Equis freezes when the kitten suddenly moves, holding completely still as she falls onto his chest.]

How am I supposed to play with her when I can't touch her?

You played with me just fine when you couldn't touch me! Talk to her.

[There is some loud purring going on. Apparently a blueblooded chest is a very acceptable resting place for a kitten.]

You understood that I couldn't touch you and knew to be careful! She doesn't!

[But all right, fine. He eyes the kitten on his chest.]

Hello. I'm Equius.

[Pounce seems to know when she's being addressed, and sits up solemnly, with every appearance of listening.

Then she takes a couple of steps forward, and licks him once on the chin.]

See, I told you! She's saying it's nice to meet you.

[He freezes again as the kitten moves.]

Nice to meet you too, Pounce. Would you mind please getting off my chest so I can sit up?

[Nope, sorry, she's rubbing her head affectionately back and forth against his chin now.]

She's only a kitten, she doesn't understand everything.

[Equius heaves a great sigh, making the kitten rise and fall with the movement.]

Can you ask her to move, then?

Don't you like her, Equius?

[There are now two pairs of kitty eyes staring at him.]

I like her just fine, Nepeta, which is why I don't want to accidentally crush her so will you please get her to move?!

[Sorry, he's a little touchy about the whole STRONG thing at the moment.]

[The tone of voice surprises her - it's not like him to get tetchy about his strength, not any more at least.

It also has the effect of getting her to relent. A bit.]

What if I sit on you with her sitting on me?

That would be fine. Now get her off.

[Nepeta scoops Pounce up and tucks her into the neck of her tshirt, within easy nuzzle-reach but making it harder for her to get away and get on Equius again. She climbs onto her moirail after that, resting her hand on one of his.]
