[Dualscar is soaking wet, his hair slicked back by water and wearing no shirt. His fins are quite comfortable, though, settled against the sides of his face in a manner that anyone who knows sea trolls would see means he's content and not agitated.]

[After clearing up a few things and changing clothes, Darkleer goes to the elevator. His hair is now tied back in a thick ponytail, and he's wearing a wetsuit- black and dark blue of course.]

I suppose you're already ready then.

[Dualscar is waiting impatiently for Darkleer's arrival, wearing a loose shirt and a pair of comfortable pants. He can swim in nearly anything, but he likes outfits that let his gills breathe freely.

He looks him over skeptically as he approaches]

I'm ready, if you'vve finished primpin'.

I apologize if my desire to make sure my hair didn't act like your cape was too long a wait for you.

[Don't you sass him, mister, he's a highblood and won't hesitate to resort to low blows. Entering the elevator, he crosses his arms after checking his braid one last time. Long hair may look pretty underwater, but it also has this tendency of getting in his face.]

[Dualscar chuckles] Wwhy do you think I ain't wwearin' my cape, and my owwn hair is short an practical. Land-dwwellers just ain't suited to wwater, is the long an short a it.

[He steps into the elevator after Darkleer. He's actually looking forward to seeing him swim. He expects it to be a bit of a mess.]

You've learned your lesson that is a stupid piece of attire, congratulations. It only took you so many sweeps.

[Seadwellers and gaudiness, he swears...]

So what made you decide to do something like this?

It's not stupid, it just ain't practical for swwimming. I wwear it for other reasons.

[As they go down back to the flooded city, Darkleer gestures to the view outside of the elevator.]

No, I think you've simply grown up. [As they arrive, finally, down into the city again, he pulls out a small gas-mask looking device from his sylladex. Smooth in design, it's just enough to fit over his nose and mouth.]

[He's just going to give Darkleer a confused look] I'vve been an adult a fuckin' long time. That thing is unattractivve, by the wway. It's to help you breathe wwater?

Being an adult is a lot different than growing up.

And yes. I didn't build it for a social event, Dualscar. So long as it can mimic the same basic idea behind your gills, then it could be covered in adorable meowbeast images for all I could care.

[He scowls a little, then shrugs] You might evven like it if it wwere covvered in meowwbeasts.

I might.

[A shrug back.]

Speaking of, what does the meowbeast we're looking for look like?

It's small and black. And it wwas last seen in the plaza. [Which is where he's heading now, swimming easily when it's necessary and sloshing through the water when it's low enough.]

Well, such beasts usually have some decent self preservation instincts. I imagine it should still be alright.

[Darkleer follows after, and manages, to his credit, to not be a complete floundering failure in the water like most other landtrolls. After his past auspitice... introduced him to the benefits of learning how to do it, he made sure to be moderately good at it. Besides, it keeps a body STRONG.]

Hopefully it is, or my friend might be disappointed. [He eyes Darkleer] Interestin'. Howw'd you learn to swwim?
