[It's late. Or too damn early. Somewhere in that ambiguous area, like 3:00 in the morning, just fine for certain parts of the alien population and a god-awful time for the rest. But here Kid is, addressing the network from the confines of a room in the island-side village.

One can just make out a few figures (Maka Albarn and Rin Okumura) behind him, sound asleep in their bed.]

I have a very important announcement to make, one that simply cannot wait until morning!

[The grim reaper, looking more lively than he has since... well, since the bubble cracked, stoops out of sight of the SFC, and reappears with an Umbreon in his arms. Beaming with the pride perhaps only a father might have for their child, he declares:]

This is Pip, and he's become even more beautiful than ever!

[It is indeed Pip, recently evolved, and he is still fat. He is also a she, but Kid never investigated that closely. Promptly forgetting about the SFC in his eagerness, Kid retreats with Pip in his arms to bend over Maka.]

Maka, Maka! Wake up! I don't want you to miss this!

Near the end of this month, it'll be half a year, but not my first stay in Vatheon. Have you only recently arrived?

Of course. Gods tend to be temperamental about that sort of thing.

Yeah, I've only been here a few days. I guess I'm just trying to gauge how long people have been here so I can sort of estimate how long I might be here. So far it's looking like I'll be here a long time.

I've heard of people staying here two years and even longer. Some, a matter of months. There seems to be no orderliness to it at all, a fact which I find nearly as disgusting as the very idea of our captivity in the first place.

[So tell him how you really feel, Kid.]

Two years. I don't think I could handle two years here.

What do you mean by disorganized?

There's a lot that can happen in two years, and some of it only here-- [A tap of the index finger of both hands, tapping at each side of his head.] Which, of course, only makes it seem longer.

[Says the grim reaper who was convinced he had spent centuries here, at one point, complete with a complex set of crisp, vivid memories.]

And I mean there's no rhyme or reason to what causes a person to stay or be sent away. The phenomenon is revoltingly random. There's no predictability, no order to it at all!

O...kay. [He has no idea what that means and he doesn't think he really wants to know

That's what I've heard. The sense of anticipation, that I could go back any moment, is riving me sort of crazy.

While you may become familiar with your new surroundings, Percy, it doesn't exactly get easier.

[Things or places driving you crazy. Ha ha... ha. Boy, he'd know all about that.]

Befriending your fellow captives does make it more tolerable for most.

That's the second time someone's mentioned something like that. Weird things happening so that the bubble bursting didn't seem like that big of an upset considering what's usually going on.

Well I have my girlfriend and another friend back home with me. And most of the people I've met here so far are pretty decent. So it's not all terrible.
