[It's late. Or too damn early. Somewhere in that ambiguous area, like 3:00 in the morning, just fine for certain parts of the alien population and a god-awful time for the rest. But here Kid is, addressing the network from the confines of a room in the island-side village.

One can just make out a few figures (Maka Albarn and Rin Okumura) behind him, sound asleep in their bed.]

I have a very important announcement to make, one that simply cannot wait until morning!

[The grim reaper, looking more lively than he has since... well, since the bubble cracked, stoops out of sight of the SFC, and reappears with an Umbreon in his arms. Beaming with the pride perhaps only a father might have for their child, he declares:]

This is Pip, and he's become even more beautiful than ever!

[It is indeed Pip, recently evolved, and he is still fat. He is also a she, but Kid never investigated that closely. Promptly forgetting about the SFC in his eagerness, Kid retreats with Pip in his arms to bend over Maka.]

Maka, Maka! Wake up! I don't want you to miss this!

Just, some of Bianca's Pokemon were bigger than that. I thought they were all about that size when they evolved.

... Anyway, dude, I'm not like an animal expert or anything, but I'm pretty sure that Pip isn't a boy.

I mean, my family's had a cat, and I know Pokemon are different critters, but when you held 'em up like that, it was pretty easy to tell.

...Pip? [She sits up, staring open-mouthed at Pip, then at Kid, then back again.] Oh my gosh! He evolved!

[And one (slightly roly-poly) Umbreon is deposited on Maka, and Pip is, as always, eager for attention.]

[Kid has plucked at each of the Umbreon's ears, showing, as he positively beams at her, that the bands around them are indeed perfectly even on either side.

Kid, stop sparkling, this is so stupid.]

[Karkat has actually bothered to sleep a few times this week, but it happens that tonight is a more wakeful one. Wakeful enough that he got bored, checked the network, and oh hey look at that. He figured Kid would be fine after what Zelda told him, but still his eyebrows quirk together.]

Pip was a Pokemon called an Eevee, but I suppose he's evolved into something else entirely! Doesn't he look splendid?

In Vatheon, naturally. Pip has belonged to Maka and I for as long as I'm aware, but it was before my time here presently that we came to own such a precious companion.
