After exploring the extent of his little ~~pink~~ amaranth iStarfish, figuring out its purpose, trying to get it to play techno music and dying in the first level of a game he found on it, he decided to use it to communicate.

However, he pressed record too quickly and started the video prematurely. After a moment, he pulled it away so the network can be greeted with a more normal shot.

Generally, when Gumball finds himself kidnapped or in another dimension or possessed, Fionna is efficient and heroic enough to save him within a reasonable timeframe. This time, it's been a while so he decides to take matters into his own hands to see what the hold-up is.

He is also feeling a little extra impatient given how...wet the current location is and how his ~~pink~~ salmon rainboots are nowhere in sight. ]

Greetings, citizens of Vatheon! My name is Prince Gumball of the Candy Kingdom. Though my stay thus far has been nice-- [ and he thinks that's being kind ]-- I worry about my subjects back home and their low tolerance for stress. To help other people? A worthy cause! [ There are people with stupider and more pointless jobs where he is from so he really thinks absolutely nothing of her vague job description. ]

Y-Yeah, it is isn't it? It can be a little difficult but it's worth it! [To help the Orerines and the Ferines...]

[ It is what it is. There are people who sweep brooms as a job so, really, "helping people" sounds great to Gumball. ]

That's sort of a bullet point of my job as well. Candy People need constant love and attention and I have to make sure to give it to them. As long as it helps you make a living.

[ Everyone is having a hard time with this candy theme... ]

Um...I'm don't mean to sound rude but is Candy Kingdom really...made out of candy?

[ He'd be completely ignorant to what that is anyway. Or he'd assume she meant the marines and just call it a day.

He nods, even though they're talking with voice. ]

Yes! The castle, the dirt is chocolate...even the people! We also eat candy as long as it doesn't talk and have aspirations. That seems to be an anomaly here.

[Meanwhile Shirley just stared at the Prince Gumball. Um...]

Uh...o-oh, I see! That must be quite the world you live in! I can't imagine living in a world where everyone is candy and to live in a kingdom like that!

Yes! So very interesting! It seems there is nothing like that here to compare it to. Just imagine walking with a wooden cane...only instead of wood, it's made out of peppermint!

That's what the Candy Kingdom is like.

I can't imagine what it must be like to run a kingdom like that...but then again, I also can't imagine being a prince and ruling over a land too...

[He can't see it but there's a small smile from her]

It sounds like it must be pretty nice!

It can be tiresome at times, making sure all of the candy people are happy and feeling loved. However, it is what I like to do and I accept my duties! Not everyone rules as I do but I suppose different places have different needs.

[ He is also smiling as he thinks of home. ]

I've come to the conclusion that I wouldn't want to live anywhere else!

[There was a small giggle. She can relate to that.]

Yes, as long as you can help others and help them live in harmony...that's the best job you can have. Even if it might be tiring, it's the other people that counts...

But I guess that means in return, your kingdom must really love you too though!

Some of the times but I always try to put others before myself. I think that they probably need more help than I do.

[And the last thing she needs to let her selflessness get in the way again.

Oh dear, that sounds like it must be really tough! I can't imagine playing a game where you have to dodge a bunch of balls!

You would probably make a good princess if that is what you think.

You really think so? I think that there is a lot more to bring a princess outside of that. There is also a lot of responsibility and work to be done but...

[For a moment, Shirley doesn't respond. Whoever this Prince Gumball was, he had a lot of optimism for someone who he just met]
