[Today on the network was a blonde looking a little distracted away from the feed. She was holding the SFC, so it was clear either she had accidentally turned on the device, or it was on purpose. A beat before she turned her attention to look directly at it.]

I arrived here a few days ago and have already caught up with what is happening from those staying in the Laboratory up North. My name is Celes Chere. An Esper is a being of power and magic in my world. Shiva is an Esper who uses ice magic.

Yanno, the shit they speak in Japan?

_{[When she touches the fragments, he opens his mouth quick enough so the mask separated to show off the points of those little teeth.]}

If you behave then I won't consider it. Espers used to live in the same world, but people got greedy. They wanted to use magic to advance in power. The Espers hid themselves in another world that was connected to ours by a gate.

And I don't have Espers or whatever--hell, the name sounds like a ghost.

They tried. It was a bloody war and the humans had weapons and Magi. Magi are people who are infused with Esper magic. The Espers couldn't have won and in the end fled.

I guess I'm pretty close to what the Magi are.

[She'll stop molesting his jaw fragment and return her hand to her side.]
