[Once again, Leo's face appears on the screen, his eyes looking full of energy as always. He's tapping his fingers on the desk in front of him, tapping out the alphabet in morse code.]

Hey everyone, Leo here. So, uh... [He scratches his head with his other hand, trying to think how to explain his idea.] I noticed that there's not really any sort of protection put on these like cellphones back home to keep you from butt-dialing people. It's bad enough that the curse is making people tell others things they don't want to... [A pained look.] Can't do anything about the curse, but I thought it might be a good time to do something that might help against those accidents.

I made an application that I can program onto your starfish communicators that will give you a sort of lock on your device. Unlocking won't automatically post anything, you'll have to get at that the same way you do now. Locking it will keep you from accidentally calling anyone or making a video that everyone on the network can see when you're not intending to.

If you want to meet me to get it, I'll be out in the park the next few afternoons. If you're busy while I'm there, but want it, just let me know and we can work something out. I'm asking for 5 starfish coins in exchange for the installation. All things considered, it's a really good deal. [With that, the recording ends.]

[ooc: there will be an open log post going up soon, so you can reply here or there, depending on if you want to talk over the SFC first or jump right into action. Action can be hand waved via commenting here, but you gotta talk to Leo in some form IC if you want it installed. The app is completely optional and has mod approval. So if you or your character doesn't want/need it feel free to move along. He's just trying to help people out.]

Ooh, catches. Sounds like a ton of not fun at all. [He says this with a very been there, done that attitude.]

It sucks. [Good idea.]

Yeah, I kind of have to have your SFC in hand to do it. I'll come over to your place? I've been meaning to come over and check out your workshop, so might as well kill two birds with one stone.

You've got it. There are some that aren't shitty, but then you get one that sucks shark dick.

[He nods.] Hell yeah. Coral Corral Six, you can just head to the garage unless you actually want to wade through the shit in the actual house. All my important crap is in the garage.

Six? I'm in Eight, dude. I'll be there in a couple seconds.

[He shuts of the SFC and heads out of his place and walks over to Dirk's garage and knocks on the door.]

[Dirk opens the door only a moment after Leo knocks.]

That's hella convenient. C'mon in.

[Inside, the garage is a slightly messy workshop. There are several half-finished robots around, blueprints up on the wall including one for a four-eyed robotic cat, a rocketboard in one corner, and a mostly-finished robot covered in gold. There are also scorch marks on the floor from what looks like an explosion, but that's to be expected, right?]

Yeah it is. [Leo grins and walks in. He looks around the room taking in all the things. Scorch marks are definitely expected. A workshop without them is one that clearly hasn't been used yet. This place feels like home and makes him miss bunker 9.] Sweet digs, bro.

It's pretty damn awesome. More space than I had back in the apartment in my universe, had to keep all that shit in my room or the living room, kept getting oil on the carpets. Nearly blew a wall off there, this one time I was making missiles.

[Yeah, he's definitely proud of it. In the meantime, he pulls out his SFC- not from a pocket, but basically from midair, after muttering a rhyme under his breath.]

Anyway, let's get this locking thing taken care of, then you can poke around if you want.

Sure thing. [Leo took the SFC from Dirk and immediately began programming. It didn't take very long. For starters, the code wasn't all that long and Leo just had this way with technology that he couldn't explain beyond that it was one of his demigod abilities.]

[After a few minutes he hands it back to Dirk.] You'll have to choose what password or passwords you want for it. It takes advantage of all the capabilities of the communicator, so you can make it secure enough that only you could unlock it. I'll look around while you take care of that.

Hell yes. Nothing's radioactive, so you can look into just about everything. [Dirk takes it back and immediately starts inputting his own passwords, gesturing for Leo to start wherever he likes.] Should've gotten RL to do this sometime, but I've never had a problem with mine turning on when it isn't wanted. She's better at coding and crap than me.

[Leo starts poking around at things. Paying close attention to the blueprints. It was always interesting to see the process behind the creation.]

I think I'd have to be really messed up to accidentally turn mine on. But it seems to happen a lot to others. So best to be proactive. Who's RL?

[Some of them are not the most informative. But there are others that are very detailed, such as one for a robot that looks something like this.]

Roxy Lalonde. She's a friend from home, we share the house, and she's a goddamn genius with computers. Even drunk out of her mind.

Roxy? I bet she's foxy. [Wow, Leo that was lame. Why did you even say that?] Pretend I didn't just say that. My rhymes are lame.

[He turns his attention to the blueprint for that kickass looking robot.] Do you have this robot here? Or just the plans for it?

And then some. Hell, she'd probably get a kick out of hearing that. [That's one thing he won't ignore, because it's completely accurate.]

Oh, Sawtooth? I fucking wish. Just plans. He's one I made back home, he's goddamn great. I might remake him here once I get the right shit together.

[He grins when his lame rhyme not only doesn't get groaned at, but gets praised. Honestly at that.] I'll keep that in mind if I ever meet her.

Sawtooth? That's an awesome name, dude. If you need any help getting things together for him, let me know. I'd be glad to help.

Spend any time around here and you probably will.

Named him after a waveform. One of the best bots I ever made, too, but I bet you'd probably think of a few improvements to add to him.

I'll probably be over here so often you'll get sick of me. [He laughs.] It'll be awhile before I'll have a workshop this sweet at my place. But I'm working on some plans to build a forge in the back yard.

You'd really let me throw in some design ideas? [He looks at the blueprints again. Mentally noting a few improvements.]

I'm not used to sharing space, but I think I can make an exception for now.

[Dirk finally looks up from the SFC, and puts it away again.]

The entire reason I made him is to prove to myself I've still got some improving to do. So hell yes, go ahead.

Guess it's a good thing I don't take up much of it.

[Leo pulls a pencil out of his tool belt and poises it above the blueprints.] Mind if I jot them down right now?

As long as you don't scratch out what I've got down already.

[Dirk doesn't get up to move closer, but he's definitely got his attention focused on whatever changes Leo's about to propose, though it's hard to tell with the sunglasses in the way of his eyes.]

Of course.

[Ideas (complete with the math to support it) on reducing weight (and thus increasing speed and lift) while also increasing capabilities are jotted down. All of the suggestions are able to be achieved without the use of celestial bronze. It was Dirk's design. These were meant to be improvements, not a complete redesign. After a few minutes he set the pencil down and pushed the blueprints in Dirk's direction.] Take a look dude.

[Dirk slides the blueprints over and starts glancing over them, reading through them much more quickly than one of the dyslexic demigods might have. It isn't long before he looks up again.]

Not bad. There is an incredibly high likelihood that I'm going to use all of these.

So glad you approve, home dawg. [He puts his fist out for a bump.] Mind if I ask what inspired you to make him in the first place? It's a pretty slick design to begin with.

[It is physically impossible for a Strider to deny a fist bump. It simply can't be done.]

Plenty of reasons. He's a rapbot, for one. Which explains itself. I made him and another bot, Squarewave, to rap against, only Square's shit at it and Sawtooth is the bomb. Secondly, when you're a fucking giant target, having backup is useful. He's the backup. He's already saved my life.

[Leo nods.] Seems like a cool dude to have around. [Robots can be dudes. Also, did he say rapbot?] I didn't know you rapped. You should dazzle me with your rhymes sometime.

Yeah, he's pretty damn bomb.

I do occasionally. [He doesn't do the same kind of rambling in rap form that Dave does, but he still does it once in a while.] Be prepared to be swept off your feet, in that case.

You're that good? [He raises an eyebrow.] Just 'cause I'm light doesn't mean I'll be easy to sweep off my feet. You better be ready to bring it.
