[Davesprite looks like he just woke up. Amazing that he feels more tired after sleeping for three straight weeks. Note to self: try to avoid that in the future.]

I'd say this is for the sake of science or something along those lines, but since it's truth week, I doubt it'd let me say that. So, I'm just going to say that this is me exploiting the hell out of this curse by asking this question publicly.

[Dramatic pause!]

What are your most embarrassing guilty pleasures? I'm surprised nobody has asked this already, Jesus.

[The problem is that there is a truth curse going on, so she can't lie. She fights to keep from blurting it out, and there's a few false starts as she tries to stop herself, but eventually she says it.]

I-I didn't really celebrate for a long time. People were afraid of me, remember?

I do, but I'm not afraid of you, so I'll get you something for your birthday. Plus, you're my friend. I wouldn't forgive myself for not getting you something.

[...Wow, it feels weird to openly and truthfully call someone a friend after three years of not saying anything like that.]

[He just called her a friend.

And he said friendship-things.

And there's a curse going on so he can't possibly be lying just to make her feel better.]

...Ah.

[Excuse her moment of speechlessness, she's not used to this.]

I. Okay.

[But she will drop the SFC on her bed as she buries her face in a pillow to hide how red in the face she is. Getting punched in the friendship is suffering.

But if it's any consolation, she's not upset at all. Just a little embarrassed.]

[Davesprite takes a moment to get more comfortable in his nest of comfy blankets.]

You alright?

[She doesn't respond right away, because she's still thinking it all over in her mind.

He called her a friend.

When a response does come, it's a little muffled because of the pillow. But she's recovering from her moment there, so she sounds more normal at least.]

Y-yeah, I'm okay.

You sure? You looked a little red there.

[Davesprite has no idea why he enjoys teasing her, but he does.]

[The teasing makes it worse, but it's a friendly teasing, so she doesn't get upset.]

I'm just happy, that's all.

[She has such a cute smile he can't.]

Then my day's been made knowing you're happy.

Okay, you've got to be exaggerating now, there's no way me being happy is the highlight of your day.

Regardless of whether I'm exaggerating or not, I still can't lie.

[Oh right. The curse.

Nanaki's just going to cover her face with her hands again. SHe can't lie either and the curse is pushing her to tell the truth but she still feels like she wants to crwal in a hole and die.]

I-it makes me happy, to hear that. I mean, it's not like I have a lot of friends anyway, and nobody's every said it to me- aaaaaah I hate this curse!

Why are you so adorable? I almost can't handle it.

[And then it occurs to him that he hasn't asked something about her yet. Maybe it's a little personal, but he feels the answer is worth hearing.]

How is it that you haven't gotten bitter about life if it treats you like garbage with that curse?

[The adorable comment almost slays her, but then there's a serious question and she sobers up pretty quickly to answer that.]

I...

[She would have liked to lie, because the truth is an ugly thing, but that's how the curse goes.]

Truthfully, I was always bitter about it. I still am, a little bit. I always thought 'why me? why did I have to get stuck with such a terrible curse?' And when nobody would listen to me, I stopped trying to warn people about their deaths. I just kept to myself and stayed bitter about it.

But then I met a guy, Banjou. He...he's like me. He sees how people are going to die too. And one day, before we met, he saw my death. But he didn't let me die, and he didn't let the fact that nobody would believe him stop him. He saved me, and he taught me that if people won't listen, then you just have to save them yourself.

So I can't be bitter, not anymore. Hundreds of people died because I didn't try to save them. I have to swallow down my bitterness and keep going. I won't let anybody else die, not if I have the power to prevent it.

[Davesprite is quiet as she talks, and for a little while after. He feels a lot of respect for her, and maybe even a little admiration. Didn't he do something similar? Yet, here he is, three years later, still bitter.

Seems so much like selfishness in the face of how Nanaki is handling it. His thing with being a "replacement" Dave also looks selfish and childish...but he knows that it will take some time before he can really get passed it. Baby steps first.]

That's a guy I gotta thank, then. And you, too.

[Baby steps are totally acceptable. Even Nanaki had to take baby steps, she is where she's at after nearly a year of prediction-breaking and character growth. Davesprite will get there eventually.]

If he ever does show up here, you'll know right away. He's...loud. And very obvious.

[And frustrating to deal with.]

I'll keep my ears open for him, then.

And if you don't hear him first, I'll be sure to introduce the two of you. We work together all the time, so you should definitely meat the other half of the prediction-breaking duo.
