Thirty-Fifth Flare - Video/Action - Fire is forever his thing
[Over the SFC]
[For anyone who hasn’t seen Lea yet, he appears to be some sort of bastard child between a large bird and fire, or ashes, depending on when someone sees him. Right now, it’s the point inbetween, with his currently gray hair just beginning to regain its spikiness, embers visible near his scalp. There are feathers along his jaw and the corners of his eyes, and also focused a great deal on his forearms and hands. His entire bottom half? That of a bird. The large wings attached to his back are a nice touch too. ]
[Right now, he looks a bit frustrated as he rubs his chin, one large talony-fingernail visible.]
So, I don’t suppose any of you really magical folk know how to make a bird-guy stop spontaneously combusting? Because that is some information I could really use. A lot. I’d try and use some of my usual magic, but I think I’m limited to fire magic right now.
…And also I have the voice of a freakin’ god, if I do say so myself, but that’s seriously not much use, know what I’m saying?
[Morning in the forest]
[Hop hop hop! Sure is Lea, carrying a basket of goodies and looking for a house of… some kind. Listen, he’s not much of a Little Red Riding Bird, but Carol said there was a Grandma's house he had to deliver these to…]
[Help a bird out?]
[Midday, the marketplace]
[Guess who’s gotten the hang of this whole ‘having wings’ thing since the curse started?]
[So if you’re wandering around today, then you might have a phoenix-boy suddenly come swooping down to try and land on your shoulders, if you’re big enough. Also? He’s a lot more… fiery than this morning. As in, really fiery.]
[Strangely enough, it doesn’t burn, but like anyone is going to notice that with a giant flaming bird all over them.]
[‘But wait!’ you may ask. ‘What if they’re not big enough to be landed on?’]
[Well, for those light enough in weight, they may find themselves being carried off by a grinning jackass of a phoenix boy.]
[He’s a sweetheart. Really. Probably.]
[Evening, wherever]
[And then a flaming pile of SOMETHING crashed near you.]
[…Sorry about that.]
[The fires go out quick enough, leaving an enormous pile of ash in their place. Something appears to be moving inside of them… Investigate?]

Morning in the forest
Looking for something I wager?
no subject
Hey man, no fair, that's an easy bet to win. Don't suppose you know where I could find an old lady's house?
no subject
Indeed I do, more than one really. Do you have a specific old lady in mind, or will any do?
no subject
That one might be it! Carol wasn't really specific, y'know. She just kind of gestured to the forest, and sent me off, heh.
Sure you don't got anything else you were doin'?
no subject
[Yep, you heard him right. Hop onto his back and he'll carry you where you need to go.]
I'm sure she'll appreciate whatever might be in that basket of yours.
no subject
[Today is his lucky day! Besides, you know, all the catching on fire thing. That sucks. Awkwardly, Lea hops and flutters up so that he's perching on the wolf's back.]
I think it's food and stuff! Carol's pretty nice like that, I think she's kinda sweet. Y'know, I don't think I know your name, Mister Fur.
no subject
[And once Lea is on his back, off they go through the forest.Fortunately for the bird, he doubts anything too nasty cares to tangle with such a large wolf. So they should by all rights reach the old lady's house unmolested.]
Any idea just when this fairy tale we're in might come to it's end?
no subject
[Lea is honestly quite happy where he is. This is a lovely way to finish Carol's quest, after all. Meeting new people is just an awesome bonus.]
Well, usually, curses end within the week. But something seems weird with this one. We usually don't have any of the... natives giving commentary like that. Something seems weird.
I'm Lea, by the way!
no subject
[And don't look now, but they're coming within sight of a rather innocent looking cottage in these woods.]
[VOICE, filtered]
I've got magic this week, so I could probably try something if you promise not to be an ass about it. Which means no laughing at me no matter how ridiculous the fates of my torturous life have chosen to make me look this week.
[VOICE, filtered]
At least you have to have it better than me, 'tho.

You know your little finger? Well, when you're making a pinkie promise, you link your little finger and the other person's little finger, and you make a promise. Pinkie promise. See?

Video;
Speak for yourself!
Video;
It's not my fault you haven't heard me sing, Sora. I'm amazing.
Video;
Oh yeah? Prove it.
Video;
[Laughing, Lea sets the SFC down and then hops back a bit until he's crouched down, bird legs and all, and clears his throat. He's never taken himself for a singer before, but this curse has done something amazing for his vocals. A deep breath...]
[It isn't normal human singing. That much is obvious. It almost seems instrumental, in a way, but still very much birdsong. Difficult to describe, in other words- that's just how a Phoenix song is. They can ensnare the attention of even a god sometimes.]
[Evening] HECK YES BABY LEA/Egg?
He might be slowly losing his mind, but touching ash was pretty low on his to risk list.
Faris did risk a poke with a booted foot though.]
Didn't think this place had falling meteors.
[EVENING] MAYBE maybe not. WHO KNOWS
THERE IS NO MAYBE. /keeps forever
Or it was one of those summons he's heard about. Squatting down as he brushed away the ash from the chirping sound.]
Jus' what the blazes happened to ya?
oh noooo!
[But most chocobos aren't half human. Or made of fire- well, ash, right now. Sure are a pair of big teal eyes staring up at you, bro. While it's hard to tell with all the ash that is still there, he seems a lot paler than he normally would be, and his normally bright, perky hair is now limp and gray around his shoulders. The same could be said for all his feathers. They look as if they could crumple to dust at the slightest touch.]
It's this... thing. That happens.
[He gives an owlish blink. Is it just you, or does he look a bit younger? Like, more chubby in the face and such? ]
You look like you're part chocobo, Lea. Don't go into the pen, or Rahdi might take offense.
Ha! Nah, man, I think I'm like... You know what a Phoenix is?
[Yay, Lea recognizes him!]
Well, it's this fiery bird thing, and I guess it explodes into flame at the end of its life? And outta the ashes rises the phoenix again, only now it's a chick. And it just keeps happenin'.
That's why I named my Nest that and all.
[Like me is the unsaid implication here.]
Evening, wherever
What the heck?
no subject
[And if the chirping just sounds like slightly high-pitched cursing, well, what can you do.]
no subject
Anyone in there? I mean, I can hear you, but I can't see you. [Maybe if he nudges it a bit with one of his wings...]
