Maybe the third time's the charm, if our "great and powerful God" deigns to deliver him a third time.
I rather suspect that it's too busy quoting Dirty Harry at us and our delightful circumstance.

We were friends for years back in our world. And attempting to continue that here, until this lovely event occurred.

It seems to happen at random, though with certain people there seems to be a pattern deciding whether they stay longer or for a shorter time.
It's difficult to say. With arrivals, there's usually a connection between people who arrive from the same world, and there's a bias toward humans as far as we can tell.
Other than that, who the hell knows.

So the scientists don't keep tabs on us and decide who they should take? I figured that's how they did it, given their emotional experiments.

The correlations between arrivals are interesting though. So you've seen or heard of a few people from your world coming and going?

If they do, their priorities and reasoning hasn't been made clear through their selection process over the course of the several years in which people have been here.
Basically, whatever parameters they have, they're really fucking random.

The only people from my universe who have appeared here are ones that I'm directly connected to. This seems to be true of the other universes mine is connected to- those of the trolls, and a number of other humans.
My research isn't extensive for other worlds, but you'll occasionally see network posts about people's friends returning to their worlds.

Bizarre. Unless they're wanting to randomise their research sample somehow... but how does that work with so many people being connected? It doesn't make logical sense.

You're welcome to analyze the data more closely yourself.
Efforts haven't been focused much in that direction because it involves finding out about every single person in the bubble. And fuck being that invasive.
Or talking to that many people.

Ain't even the first time it's happened. My shit is fucking handled, in this case.
There are more productive thoughts to have than a scratched record of "Oh no, my biffle is gone."
