Has anyone had one of those moments when they believe to be good at something, only to realize there are people much better than you? It's hard to follow a young girls many dreams when there are more obstacles than one realizes.

Anyway, I'm basically saying I think I need some singing lessons, or even lessons on how to be an idol, if anyone is willing to lend me a hand?

There will be a few rules I have to have if you accept such as I will sleep in till 10 in the morning and I'm more of an active girl than a study girl, so that would mean no lessons that involve written work. Lessons where you have to sit at a desk for hours on end is boring and I don't understand why it's necessary.

So, if anyone is willing, I'll be happy to learn from you and I promise to do my best between this and planned cooking lessons.

Honestly, the key piece of my solution was just not thinking about it too hard. Focus on your abilities, not those around you - except for how you can advance theirs, of course!

But how could you know your doing better if one doesn't at least compare themselves to someone? Not to say I'm not going to focus now, but still. Also way ahead of you in the not thinking too much phase.

Well, I kind of work in a different league than many of my pals in a lot of areas, so I tend to focus on those these days. Makes things easier.

I never thought of it as particularly special, I guess? I mean, intellect is normal among the Amarcians...

Where I'm from, we have smart people but they aren't common.

Well, as far as I know, they're not super-common outside Amarcia. The Ancient Amarcians had a lot of shinies we've lost, and poking our own blood to breed smart and with awesome two-toney hair might've been one of 'em.

I cant say I understand your world very much, but being smart never the less is a good thing. I wish I was smart. School work would be much easier.

Schooling's not so much about smarts as zoning in on one thing. I didn't do good in school until high school, and that required a lot of effort. I'm just not the kind of girl to do one thing at a time, you know?

I guess not. I thought school is where one is meant to learn and those that are smart do well.

Smart's a lot of things, really. I mean, people constantly knock how I don't bother with all the jargon for things, but you can't discount the results when I, you know, work.

It's knowing what you're good at and using it that helps a girl get along.

Knowing what you're good at... Well I can do that. Would that make me smart in just that area?

Personally? I wouldn't use the word "Smart." "Capable" is more specific.
