video - bakery's specials!
Ve, there have been a lot of strange things going on lately - scary things! - so today's bakery special is fairy cookies!
[ he pans over to cute fairy cookies neatly wrapped. ]

And to do with that, fairy wands!

I have all sorts of colors. I just decorated some pink wands. I wanted something warm. Blue is too cold right now.
I also made some scary cookies! T-teeth!

Marshmallows, cherry, chocolate chips, and scary. I-I don't think they'll eat anyone.
[ he had to have a local take them out of the oven because they looked like they'd eat him. ]
It's really warm in the bakery. Someone come join me. I'm still cold.

[Which, in his line of work, is actually a good thing, but he does want to possibly visit there once things calm down. Realistically he's not sure if things will ever calm down entirely, but a vacation wouldn't go amiss. Maybe he can get Jet to go with him? It's unlikely as disinterested as the American is in his ancestral heritage but maybe just for the sights and the food.]
In any case, would it be any trouble to ask for you to make a baumkuchen? How much would that be?

[ he doesn't get many visitors, but his home is very inviting. ]
No trouble at all. I'll whip it up right away. No charge~

[That's definitely a pick-me-up for the day. He doesn't usually indulge but considering being helplessly trapped in an underwater bubble and spied on by scientists isn't his favorite situation, he supposes he should allow himself the indulgence.]
When should I pick it up?

video -> action, if you want!
[He gives another smile and shuts off the video. About an hour later, the German steps through the doors of the bakery, pausing in the entrance for a moment to take in the atmosphere. While many of the products are different, it still has the same feel as the European bakeries he's used to and he finds it a comfort to be confronted with the familiar in an alien place.
Maybe he'll pick up some bread and make something a bit more hearty for dinner tonight instead of the small things he's been having in the hotel room.]
ACTION :3
Hello~!
action forever! /o/
[It smells so good. There's no smell that evokes childhood for him like that of baking bread or pastry. It puts him in a bit of a nostalgic mood.]

[He blinks. He hasn't found many places left in the world that do that, not since the war. Capitalism is generally the way of things. You pay or you starve. It's nice to see the resurgence of old world values.]
I'm afraid I don't have much.
[He motions to the art on the walls.]
I haven't painted in years. I do write music on occasion though, if that's of interest.
[He would feel odd giving nothing, even if he knows his musical skills aren't what they used to be before he was made a cyborg. He can write it just as well, but playing it...]

I do like music though. Austria always played the piano, and I liked listening to him play this pretty music.

[First "Germany's house" and now Austria playing the piano?]
Ah, pardon my asking, but is there a reason you keep referring to countries as people?
[As far as he knows, nations are just a people within borders of land, not individuals in their own right.]

...what?

I'm a country. I'm Italy~

[He should have guessed it was too good to be true. A little slice of Europe in Vatheon and it turns out to be run by a crazy person. Idly he has to wonder how long this guy has been here to make him snap and think he's a country, and just how long before he starts down the same road.]
How long have you been here?
no subject
Ve~, I think about two years now?
no subject
I see. That's quite a long time. If you're Italy as you say and you're gone from the world, though, seeing as this is another planet, wouldn't the nation cease to exist while you're absent?
[Normally he'd just let it go but he continues to feel trapped and isolated here so even a negative conversation is at least something.]
no subject
Ve, time stands still back home when you're here, so technically I haven't really gone anywhere.

The tension in Albert's shoulders eases and he lets out a quiet sigh.]
I apologize. The manner in which we were brought here dredges up all kinds of negative things. It's unfair to take them out on you.
[Even if he does still think he's crazy, but... what's the harm? He's not hurting anyone.]
no subject
You never told me your name!
no subject
[He only hesitates a moment, wondering briefly if he should give his number instead of his name, but... well, perhaps here, around people who think they're walking countries, his own struggle with his humanity seems a bit strange. He'd rather be thought of as a person than a number in any case.]

It's nice to meet you as well.
[Even if he's still pretty convinced you're nuts.]

A loaf of whole grain, if you don't mind. Something dense with a thick crust.
