Or I haven't met the right people. Either scenario is entirely plausible.

[Hubert wasn't nearly as optimistic as his brother, but he wasn't exactly a pessimist either. If anything he fell closer to 'realist', but even he knew that his experiences were colored by a somewhat privileged upbringing in a place where there were very few who found reason to strive for beyond what they were capable of handling.]

It's one of the few perks to being in this place. I meet people I wouldn't have otherwise come across. As irritating as the curses can be, I'd like to think I'm a better person for the experience.
