New Moon, stop that.
[The golden retriever pulls away from the SFC camera, sparing you all prolonged exposure from a close up of a doggy nose. There's the sound of boots in the sand before Saix picks up the SFC and starts to clean it with a sigh. From what can be seen, he's somewhere on the island, the night sky stretched out above him. Settled in the sand is also a telescope, and some papers and books set up on a nearby rock.]
[Soon enough, he realizes that the SFC is on. Oh well. He might as well put it to good use- he had been wondering something tonight. Maybe someone in Vatheon could be useful.]
[When he speaks, he actually sounds fairly relaxed and calm instead of stoic, rigid, or just plain... well, douchebaggy.]
Is there anyone who knows anything about astronomy, or anything to do with the night sky? I'm simply curious.
[None of the Organization were really people he could have a conversation with about his element, and he's in a 'good' mood tonight. His gaze shifts away from the SFC until he's looking up into the sky.]
It's waxing crescent tonight...
[Action]
[Anyone up on the island tonight has a chance of running into Saix, who's found a nice spot on the beach. His black coat and gloves are folded off to the side, leaving him in a simple tank top and his pants as he looks through the telescope. If someone approaches, he'll look up and give a slight nod of recognition while his dog simply lays by the rocks, tail wagging.]

It's just not easy to see the stars from underwater, so they're the closest he has unless he takes to the island. It's with that in mind that Axel decides to stay out for a little while more. Within moments he steps out of a Corridor and onto the white sand of the beach up top. It's different here at night... but he thinks he likes it this way the most. There's nothing to bother him up here; he can just be alone with his thoughts and the real starlight.
He's dressed casually tonight, his still wounded wrist and hand hidden away in the loose sleeve of his hooded jacket and the other hand shoved into his pocket. Axel's not particularly focused on anything when suddenly the sight of someone up along the shore surprises him and he looks up having just stopped in place. ... It's a sight only Axel would really be familiar with, and yet he feels odd looking at it, as if something about it isn't right.
... Ah. That's it. It's because it's Isa he sees, even for a little while, and it's just not settling with him the way it should.
Too caught up in watching, Axel doesn't say or do anything. Not yet.]

[It's probably an easier fantasy to think upon, without the black coat weighing down upon his body and serving as a reminder. For ten straight years or so, he's had to wear it, and little else. Without it, he could almost be normal. He could be anyone just stargazing.]
[Axel may not make a sound, or be close enough for his steps in the sand to mean much, but after a few seconds of his staring, Saix straightens and looks right to him without a word. It's been a longtime, but the light of crescent moons have always made him a little more sensitive to his surroundings. He spots Axel before the dog does, hopping to its feet and giving a loud bark. Saix doesn't say anything. He simply watches right back.]

It puts him at ease.]
... Hey.
no subject
[There really isn't anything to say. Axel didn't really look like he was expecting to see him, so Saix is going to guess this is simply something of a coincidence. That just makes it harder to make conversation, although he's faintly tempted to tell Axel to go away. But there that good 'mood' is again, keeping him sedate.]

[Small talk seems appropriate right now, right? Even though it's obvious what Saïx is doing anyway. It's just– He wants to talk.]
no subject
[Ha haaa... Although it is true, that is pretty much what he is focusing on right now. New Moon is still wagging his tail and looking interested, but Saix seems to have trained him well already. At a gesture, the dog lays down in the sand again but doesn't take his eyes off of Axel.]
What are you doing here?
no subject
Just going for a walk. Is that a bad thing?
no subject
[He turns back to his telescope, his hand laying on it rather gently.]
I'm a bit busy right now. [So. Go away????]
no subject
Remember when I got you one of those?
no subject
I thought you weren't 'him' anymore. You certainly do like to pick and choose when you're 'Lea' and when you're 'Axel'.
[But yes. He remembers.]
no subject
I'm not. But he's a part of who I am.
[Shrug]
... So do you remember or what?
no subject
[Whatever. If he wants to be in denial, fine. Saix won't bother to do anything about it.]
...I do.
no subject
But his attention doesn't stay focused on the dog for long. Eventually he's back to glancing at Saïx and then the sky above where he can see the moon. As he remembers, it's waxing crescent tonight; Lea had sat through many of Isa's stargazing sessions and memorized almost every constellation and moon phase by heart.]
... See any constellations you recognize?
[It's the summer sky, so there are new ones around, no doubt.]
no subject
Every World has a different kind of sky. Everything is unfamiliar here.
[Especially since it seems to be a World far away from the ones they know of.]
no subject
[One night they might see their sky and another night there might not even be a proper sky at all. Just... darkness. Unpredictability like that is unsettling for Axel, but all the same it's exciting. Thinking it, he keeps his eyes focused upward, quiet awe circling about within them.]
After all, the moon's pretty similar.
no subject
[No comment. The sky in Never Was changed enough for his liking- utter darkness, and then Kingdom Hearts overtaking everything. He actually... likes the idea of something a little more permanent to look up at. It soothes him, a little. He's not sure if it happened when he lost his heart and stopped being 'Isa', or if it happened sometime between, but he can't help but feel like he's made out of jagged edges sometimes. Axel's presence makes it worse sometimes, really, although it was the only moon Never Was had that really brought it out.]
[He gives a small shake of his head, straightening so that he's looking at the moon with his own eyes instead of relying on anything else.]
No... It's different. It's very different.. It's full of so much energy- seeing and reflecting so much of it.
[His voice is strangely soft as he mentions it, not quite there.]
no subject
Isa, tell me about the moon again. What is it tonight? What'll it be tomorrow?
Can we go see it together?]
What else?
no subject
It's still so faint right now.. Its glow dimmed. That let other things be seen, like something shining right above it- a World, or a star. I can't tell yet.
no subject
To Lea, his friend was like the moon itself- quiet, soft spoken, but with so much power and poise.]
... Can I take a look?
[said as he glance over at the telescope.]
no subject
...You might break it.
no subject
I've never broken it before.
no subject
no subject
[More eye rolling. Honestly.]
no subject
[Just tellin' it like it is bro]
no subject
[Don't mind him, he'll just be holding up New Moon's head with both hands so he can massage his jaw. Who's a good boy? Who's a good boy~?]
no subject
[Sorry, doge is currently busy. Too busy just leaaaaning into Axel and thumping his hind leg a little. Yesssss, he is the best boy.]
no subject
[Who's a good doggy? Yes, you're a good doggy, awwwwwww.]
no subject
[And then it got cut down to size again so, y'know.]
no subject
[You can just never be wrong, can you. But whatever. He's used to it. Axel continues to pet doggy before he has to give his hands a rest. So, he'll go ahead and make himself comfortable, flopping backward onto the sand with his arms folded behind his head. ... Hm. The night sky really is nice here.]
no subject
[Such a teamplayer he is.]
[Saix watches him for a moment longer, as if not really sure what to make of him, before he turns his back on him once again. This was a nice night, and he's determined to salvage it.]
no subject
Really, it's not his intention to bother Saïx right now. He just wants to be here. That's all.]
no subject
no subject
[What with work and then prison, whoops.]
no subject
[The SFC is placed down so that Saix can use both his hands again, adjusting the telescope just slightly.]
What was it like on your World, then?
no subject
[Because who knows if this world has the same solar system as his own world. It all looks the same as far as the constellations go to him.]
no subject
[Whoops, got an astronomy snob over here.]
Having stars and a moon does not make two different skies the same. That's over simplifying things.
no subject
[Then light frown.]
It's not polite to mutter like that, Mister Saix.
[y e p, he's heard alllllllll about you c: He has ~connections~]
hisses at html forever
How do you know my name?
whoops
[hint: a little keyblade wielder told him, but not the ones that he'd probably think of first.]
it betrays us both
[It's just blue, it's not like it defies gravity like Axel or Sora's does, jeez.]
alas, cruel html
[Axel's hair still throws him for a loop. It's just so red.]
no subject
It's rude to use my name when I don't have yours.
[Not that he really cares about manners, but still.]
no subject
Ah, my apologies. My name is Solf J. Kimblee.
