[video] Selphie is Sad, but we're off hiatus!

*When Selphie woke up and she was able to leave her bed, she looked around the house for Rinoa. She wasn't upstairs, or downstairs. That wasn't so unusual. Selphie thought she'd use the SFC to see if Rinoa could bring back those burgers she got the last time Selphie was in a coma. But Rinoa's name wasn't on the list. Selphie knows too well what that means.

On the screen, Selphie is still wearing her little yellow pyjamas, curled up on the sofa in the living room she used to share with Rinoa. She blinks, rather forlornly, at the SFC*

I don't know when it happened but...Rinoa's gone home. For all her friends here...I thought I'd let you know that I'm from Rinny's homeworld too, but I'm from a place more in the future than from where she was here from. So, I can promise everyone that even though some crazy stuff might happen, Rinoa ends up perfectly safe and really happy, with friends and people who love her.

*Selphie manages a small, weak smile, then promptly switches off her SFC*

You made a wish, right? [Aya watches the smoke curl in the air after being blown out before looking to Selphie, squeezing her hand as well.]

You bet! *She smiles and winks at him, going through drawers to get out cutlery and plates* But I can't tell you what it is or else it won't come true. Wanna have some cake?

I wasn't going to ask, you know. [He smirks before nodding at the question, taking the cake to the kitchen table so they could sit down.]

Well, that's just as well then, cause you aren't gonna get to know! *She sticks her tongue slightly before skipping over to the table. Selphie sits down, and slides a plate and a fork over to Aya. She just watches him for a moment, not saying anything for a moment*

Remember the last time I was in a coma? And you took me out for breakfast? Who'da thought we'd end up like this, huh?

[Aya rolled his eyes and took the fork but left the plate alone. Before he stuck his fork into the cake, he pauses and nods.]

You have a point there, and this is sort of like breakfast for you, right? [Aya took a small forkful of the cake.] Probably one of my better decisions in my life. [Quite the understatement. He takes the bite of cake, liking how it's sweet enough to enjoy but not enough to hurt his teeth.]

[But since they were sort of on the topic of circumstances...]

Do you want to stay here, in this house? [With Rinoa gone, it'll get lonely for her. She seems more of the type to be around others than by herself.]

*Selphie nods and stabs at her cake* Yup! A belated birthday breakfast! *She giggles a little at how silly that sounds, and takes a bite, her eyes widening at just how delicious it is* This is goood!

*Selphie takes another bite, smiling brightly at him as she chews* I'd have to agree with you there! That was definitely a great idea you had that day!

*She pauses in her quick eating of the cake to look down at her plate* Hmm... I don't know. I'll probably clear out and find a room somewhere.

I don't think anything could beat cake for breakfast. [Aya's glad Selphie is enjoying the cake so much. He probably won't eat more than just that one bite.]

[At her answer about staying in the empty house, he frowns.] Why would you do that?

*Selphie just laughs at that - she doesn't think he's lying or anything, but the way that he only eats so little of sweet things is amusing to her. So adorable, Aya* Nopes! It's the best!

I don't like living on my own that's all. I don't really know anyone who would want to come and move in with me. Maybe easier if I get a little apartment room or something. Instead of being in this big house on my own.

*They wouldn't be neighbours anymore, but she was sure that that wouldn't matter so much. This time, she takes a slightly bigger mouthful of cake*

Come live with me. [It was really the point he had been trying to make. Aya doesn't want her living somewhere else. Technically, that wouldn't make them neighbors anymore, but it's a step up from that, surely.] You won't have to be on your own. [He said something similar before to her, that same day he took her out for breakfast.]

*Immediately, Selphie looks up at Aya, like he's just suggested the most exciting and magical thing of all time. But then her smile fades and she shakes her head, turning away from him*

But then... then you'd just get bored of me much quicker...

*Living together, and working together - she wants to delay him getting bored of her as much as possible*

Selphie... [He can understand her logic, but to hear it like that..]

[Aya cups her face, stroking a cheek with a thumb,.] I won't get bored of you, but if you want me to fire you, I can. [Thats the solution, right?]

*When she blinks back up at him, Selphie looks very worried indeed. She almost panics when he mentions firing her, but then straight away she grins and plants several kisses promptly on his lips*

Yes, please!~

[Aya grins and chuckles at the kisses, trying his best to keep up with them.]

Then I guess I'll have to let you go. It won't be the same, but you can always fill in for me, should anything happen to me.

*Eventually she stops with the kissing and sits back down properly in her chair*

Yessir. But don't you dare start talking to me about anything happening to you! *She frowns and waggles a finger, only half-joking*

Still, I can come in and make sure you're taking all your tea breaks! And I can help you find someone new to take over. I was always kinda useless anyway...

[He watches that finger before nodding. She may be half-joking, but he intends to stay as healthy as he can.]

You were a very big help, actually. I don't think the shop would have done as well without your help.

Never underestimate the charm of a pretty face in a flower shop! *She giggles, knowing that really that wasn't all that she had done. Though, in saying that, she suddenly looks alarmed*

Wait! But! When you replace me you gotta make sure that it's not a girl that's cuter than me, okay?!

....what<-i>?[Eyebrow raise] How would I even know if she's cuter than you?

*Oh, that's a proper scowl Aya's getting as she finishes off her cake*

Hmmf. I think I ought to see her before you go employing her. Just in case.

I don't think so. [Bring on the scowls!!]

But then...you'll just go hire someone really beautiful, and then you'll fall in love with them and never come home to me ever!

*Okay, yes, she's being ridiculous now. She pouts and gives a shrug, already hatching plans to distract him in the back room of the shop if she had to...*

What if I don't plan to hire a girl? [He has this all figured out.]

Uh. Well...Then... If you fall in love with him instead, you should probably let me know?

*She quirks a brow, deciding to joke about her defeat in this argument*

I'm pretty sure I won't fall in love with anyone. [He gives Selphie a wry smile. She worried too much.]

Oh. Well, then that's okay by me.

*She smiles back at him, though silently wonders if that means her too. So she busies herself with collecting the plates and cutlery, cleaning the dishes and tidying things away*

[Aya is pretty sure he's not including her in his statement. Her sudden quietness makes him curious.]

[He decides to help Selphie with putting things away, not minding the silence between them. It's not an awkward silence, luckily.]
