[Audio/Action]
[When the SFC turns on it appears that it was accidental. There's no video to indicate where the troll might be, though the sounds might make it easier to guess. In the background, the sea can be heard, washing in and spraying up over rocky outcroppings. Over that, however, there's a quiet, lilting hum, interspersed now and then with words - singing.
The Dolorosa doesn't sing often. Late in her life she had no reason to, but things are different now. She can allow herself happiness now without worrying every moment that it might be taken from her.
Anyone on the island would find her on the beach, barefoot in the sand and wearing a white summer dress embroidered with jade patterns around the hem. She's walking lightly, allowing the natural glow of her skin to shine softly and she's half-humming, half-singing some old song that perhaps she might have lulled Signless to sleep with when he was very small. It's been so long that she's forgotten half the words, but the melody is still intact.]
((feel free to ping either her SFC or go for action! She's not affected by this week's curse :>))

[She thinks for a moment. Would she know any songs that he would know? Perhaps not, but one song does come to her mind.
The Dolorosa pulls in a breath, straightens her shoulders and begins, a faintly lilting and quivering tone underlying her voice. It's a song of the slaves, one composed, unintentionally, to the tempo of swelling waves and the pounding of a drum, but sitting by the quiet tide it takes on a slightly different rhythm, old and melancholy and infinitely sadder when sung by a single voice.
Yet there's beauty in it, too. They had to find beauty in things, during the dark days, lest they all go mad for the lack of it.]

old.]
[The song she sings. It tightens and curls up in his gut more than he'd care to mention, reminds him of his people, of that place, their home. A small smile- almost bitter and sad appears on his lips before his lids lower down to his guitar. Summoner manages to practice every day, and is getting better quickly with the instrument. He's a troll of will and strive, so all his free time had to go to something- so this music- something that reminds him of Zelda as well- shall be what he tries to plunge into until his time here's done. That and his relationships, of course. That seemed to be the case with just about everyone here.]
[But for now he lets her voice take him and his hands follow along willingly, able to pick up a simple rhythm before the more complicated chords of the piece comes to him. The notes he plays are hollow sounding, from the bones of the fish skeleton guitar, but hollow in sound- they don't lack the passion that vibrates in Dolorosa's voice as well.]
[Right- he knows this song- it's old, ancient, classic, not something he and his men would indulge in before a battle- but perhaps after...]

He understands, she knows, in a way that so few can.
It's been sweeps since she last sang but she still remembers the words, singing through to the end and allowing the last note to hang between them.]
WELL FINE THEN
Heh- [A shy smile down at her hand, one of his moving to slide up behind his neck and rub there for a moment. His fish bone guitar is quiet now, resting over his lap with his other hand holding the neck, keeping it level. Quiet yeah- but the song's still playing in his head and it takes him a moment to break from the nostalgia of it.]
Been a while... [Said with a somber tone to his voice, but he's smiling. A small, distracted smile that he directs along with his gaze, to the ground near his feet.]
<3
[She lets out a slow breath as if to steady herself, letting her hand linger on his knee as she draws comfort from the contact.]
I am sorry, Summoner. I did not intend to cause such a melancholy atmosphere.
Re: <3
No, don't apologize for reminding me. Of them- of everything. None of it should ever be forgotten- right? [Looks up, eyes wide, smile so much brighter than it was before. Because he- really means it. That song is sad, in a way, but it still holds hope, still was sung by their kind for sweeps, and still can be heard by him as something to relish in. An apology is unnecessary.]

[When she smiles this time there's a light to it, and she turns her hand over to clasp his tightly. Despite the difference in caste they can find solidarity in a shared purpose, and wasn't that the whole point of it to begin with?
The jadeblood glances away, out across the sea as the breeze whips around them and tugs at her hair, and her expression softens.]
My name is Porrim Maryam. You may know me as such, if you wish it.

well...]
[Any...way.............. he's looking out to the sea as she is and ends up chuckling a bit under his breath at that.] Wriggler names? Been a while since I went by what that ol' bull gave me, Lysunder's what I'll stick to now, as old as I am but- [Shrugs a shoulder, still a small smirk on his mouth, tilted more to one side. He shifts his wings.] Used to be- Rufioh Nitram. At least so ya know, I guess, heh.

[She says it as if she's testing the sound of it on her lips, and chuckles.]
It suits you.

[She pauses with a smile.]
An interesting choice of name.

uh? Not really I mean- [Counts on his fingers. L-Y-S- hm, hm, yeah he's right there. Not that everyone, does it like that he guesses.] Guess something like Darkleer and Dualscar are a uh, a bit more literal. [A scoffed laugh.] But 'sunder' means something. And it's uh, kinda what I do. [Grin.]

Signless and Disciple would call me 'Rosa'. [She chuckles.] I think they sometimes forgot why.
no subject
Well heh- you don't really need a name as long as you have what it stands for.

Do you know what my name means, my dear? Why they call me the Dolorosa?

It is from an old dialect.. a word that means deep sorrow and grief. [Closing her eyes, she spreads her hands and gives a gentle shrug.] A name to denote my place; my role, as many are.

At times- it's the title that denotes your purpose... but- [Glancing down before, but his glaze flicks up to her now, head still a little bowed.]/small>
Why keep a name like that? I- I don't really think it fits you.
