*Not the usual kind of message from Selphie - she had meant for it to be anon, but given how utterly miserable she's feeling, she'd forgotten to turn on the button. So there's your text, Vatheon, from a girl who is suffering too much now that Aya has left the bubble*

[ and Italy soon arrives at the location noted above with an oversized basket of fresh chocolate croissants, danishes, and brownies. ]

*Selphie glances up from the floor of the barn, where she's snuggled up to some chocobos, who turn to look accusingly at Italy. Her eyes are red and puffy*

Wh-why didn't you...just leave the basket outside...?

[ he comes in like he's been invited. ]

Because you shouldn't be alone right now! So I've come to keep you company~

*Selphie just shakes her head and presses her face into the wing of the chocobo lying at her feet*

You probably shouldn't...

Ve, I think it's a little too late for that.

[ Italy was good at being a persistent pest. Regardless, he offers her a large assortment of chocolate croissants he had in the box. ]

*Selphie continues to shake her head into the feathers of the chocobo. Eventually, she does glance up to look at the chocolate croissants. They do look delicious, and she is pretty hungry. Face half-buried in chocobo, Selphie slowly extends a hand outward*

[ Italy picks one out and offers it to the outstretched hand with a smile. ]

*Selphie takes her carefully then begins picking it into tiny pieces that she eats very slowly, saying nothing, just sniffing occasionally*

[ Italy takes a croissant and begins to eat it too, though more in bites than picking. He can understand the sentiment. He'd been pretty upset as of late himself, though no doubt for different reasons. The announcement about the end of the experiment isn't an easy one to swallow. Disappearing from the world isn't quite within the country's plans. He had to return and reunite with his friends and his people. ]

*Selphie nibbles on the croissant for a long time, before eventually it's nearly finished. It does take a moment or two before she's able to actually swallow the lump in her throat*

Did you know... that you can't die here, even if you want to?

[ sounds a bit opposite from what he'd heard recently. That 'termination' of the project sounded pretty final to him. However Italy was a country and countries never died. They simply disappeared from history. Humans were different, of course. ]

No. I got killed here once. Just ended up back again.

*Selphie shrugs and buries her face back into the chocobo's side, her voice muffled*

I can't wait til this whole thing just ends...

But where will you go after this ends? Won't your friends miss you? [ A surprisingly deep thought from a rather whimsical country. He thinks of his friends back home and the "ancient Japanese promise" (really just a pinky promise) he made with Germany to always be friends. ]

I don't know... I've been here for years... So long... So who cares?

*Selphie's shoulders slump, and all she can think of to do is grab another croissant*

Ve, I have too. [ okay, his friends are probably happy he's not there to mess things up, but that doesn't seem to bother him at all, when it probably should ]

But I'd care. Ve, if we were from the same world, I'd miss you.

*Selphie blinks hard a few times before turning to him then*

I'd miss you too.
