Huh.

[It's a little difficult to record like this since he doesn't exactly have any opposable thumbs right now, but Axel still manages easily enough by punching in the right buttons... with his beak.]

There. Geez...

[Shortly after a face appears in front of the screen... and it appears to be very much bird-like. Another peck before the large bird scoots away, wings spread and tail fanned out awkwardly as he tries his best not to accidentally step on it.]

Well, at least this time around I can actually talk.

[Being a cheetah had been cool for a while, sure, but there's something about this change which excites Axel even more. Puffing up his feathers, he seems to grin at the communicator before he struts and turns a bit to try and get a better look at his tail feathers. Ooh.]

A bit flashy... but I think I can get behind this just fine. I--

[Suddenly as he opens his beak a jet of hot fire leaves his mouth. Startled, Axel scrambles back, falling over so ungracefully onto his back.]

[He frowns at that and since his wingspan is so long, Axel takes the opportunity to reach out and try to bat Saix in the face a couple times.]

[Urk-! Saix bats that wing away, huffing... and something under his hood seeming to twitch.]

[Axel tucks his wing in again, but he still frowns at Saix and puffs up a bit.]

Have too.

[... Did something just twitch under your hood what is that. Might be trying to peer under that hood of yours again, man.]

That is the kind of statement that could be heavily debated.

[...What are you doing. Saix leans away further.]

Stop that.

[He leans in a little more, as far as his neck will allow him to.]

...You're going to continue to be invasive until you see what the curse did to me, aren't you?

[He clicks his beak since it's kind of hard for him to smile. ... Actually, it's pretty impossible.]

You truly are pathetically immature...

[But he supposes there's no helping it. Axel has this annoying tendency to get his way, and Saix doubts that a little hood is really going to do much to help him anyway. So, slightly annoyed, he reaches up to pull back his hood-]

[SPROING]

[That would be the two looong ears suddenly popping up, having been stifled underneath that hood. They seem to have replaced Saix's usual pointy enough ears... See, there's even little stud earrings in them.]

[As Saix starts to tug his hood off Axel's eyes widen, so incredibly green and inquisitive, then when those ears spring out he jumps a bit, flapping his wings and letting out a loud squawk. Before long he's leaning back in, however, so curious.]

Whoa, are those... rabbit ears?

[The afformentioned rabbit ears flick back straight and Saix seems to be making a quiet and weird noise.]

I doubt they could match any other animal.

[That noise is the weirdest noise ever. Axel flaps his wings before he hops down onto the couch so he can get a closer look at those ears.]

Huh...

[After a beat,]

They're adorable.

[Saix leans away a little as Axel gets closer, making another one of those weird noises.]

I don't recall ever asking to be adorable.

[Ear twitch.]

Of course you wouldn't. It's a curse, remember?

[Shaking his head]

Just accept it and be thankful you're not a real rabbit.

If I was a real rabbit, I would never have contacted you.

[Ever]

I figure. Still, that wouldn't be fun at all. I'd love to see you as a real rabbit.

[Another laugh... which suddenly dissolves into a slew of chirps and squawks. UH. Oops.]

I'm certain you would. [Weirdo.] It sounds as though you have enough problems to worry about besides me and rabbits.

Well, seein' you with a puffy cottontail would be pretty cool, you know. ... Unless you've got one of those right now.

[Don't mind him; he'll just be trying to walk over to see if he can steal a peek at your ass.]

But you know, all things considered, I could be worse off than this. At least I can talk this time.

[Axel, stop grasping for excuses to look at his ass. Saix very pointedly moves his sitting position so that his back is against the little corner of his side of the couch, facing Axel more. More weird rabbit noises.]

How unfortunate for the rest of us.

[If you want him to stop grasping for excuses, then at least let him grasp dat ass.

Aha. He's being awfully evasive again. The feathers atop Axel's head start to stick up as curiosity once again sets in.]

I am a bird, though. What did you expect?

[Peering still]

... So did you get a cottontail?

Something less annoying.

[His ears seem to quiver, but they stay just as flat as ever. Saix's eyes narrow.]

Why so much interest in my anatomy?

[He croons, wings flapping as he attempts to fly and land on the backrest of the couch. Nope, he's not giving up.]

I just wanna know. Is that so wrong? Come on. It's probably really adorable and I'm missing out on it.

[Axel is a prime example of why Saix does not own birds. He swats at him, growling some more.]

It's underneath my coat and my pants, it would take too much effort to show you.

Then take off your coat and pants. Come on! You do it every day, don't you?

[Snicker]

...So basically you want me to strip. Why don't you just use your imagination?
