[He looks at the text for a few moments, thinking about responding, but not sure how. Finally settling on a simple:]

[But then after, setting his SFC down to head into the room Karkat's in, the trek being none too graceful(HE'S WORKING ON IT OK). Stopping in the door way, looking at him with a mixed expression. He feels like he's being a bit too needy, almost having to check on him every so often, to make sure he's still there. Maybe it's a touch obsessive, but... After last week, he can't really help it. He says nothing though, not sure what to say really. It's not even a need for conversation. It's a need for security.]

[Karkat's been perched by the windowsill, now and then looking out at Demyx, and meanwhile fiddling with his SFC. There's some nerf darts stuck to the pane reading "hi", which he hasn't done anything about yet. But then Eridan comes in, or at least to the doorway, prompting him to look over at him.]

[His own expression is mixed. He's been concerned for his matesprit these past days, making sure his wound is taken care of right. He really lucked out in that department, five days and a scar, no nasty healing process (though the death part sucked a whole sack of shame globes). Eridan though... It hurts to see him like that, and to know that he's blind in one eye.]

[He steps away from the window, crossing the room about halfway.]

I never wanted things to turn out like this.

It's hardly anything I was anticipatin' myself.

[Maybe it's a little blunt to put it like that, he isn't exactly trying to be that way with Karkat. He's just been on edge since it all happened, slowly working down into a somewhat state of calmness. He was so worried that he was going to be killed that week, so sure that he wouldn't survive it despite Demyx's attempts to mediate. He had heard of what Gamzee did before, but it was another thing entirely to see it for himself. To turn, looking staight at the indigo blood as he brought that sickle down on him--the memory makes his wound her, and it's enough for him to just discard that train of thought altogether.]

[He doesn't remain though, at the door that is. He makes his way towards Karkat, but stopping a few feet away. Just frowning. This really sucked, and for as much as Karkat's worrying over him, he can't help but worry that something will happen to Karkat again--that he won't be there to do something about it.]

[There's a whole number of things he could say to that. He could have, if he had just stopped and thought more on the warning he gave, and it's not the first time he's felt almost angry that he didn't listen. But he's mad at himself, too. He should have been strong enough to fight her off, to keep her disarmed, to not let her get the knife in his throat. And how many people just take a death that easily? Even if he had thought of the danger, how could he not take the death like the blow it was?]

[His gaze slips down, finding the sign on Eridan's chest rather than his face as he approaches. What should he do now? He feels weak enough without relying on another. It's a feeling that won't be leaving him soon.]

I just wish I knew how to deal with this whole thing. My entire--everything has been rattled up and I don't know where the pieces to this puzzle even go anymore, especially when half of them have been carved in half.
