[ Well, it's taken a little while. But a warm towel and a trip to the Welcoming Committee later, Kairi has a lot better of an idea as to what's going on here than she'd had just prior to that. It's a relief and a worry all at once, to know that she's not alone in this. To see so many others stuck here is kind of sad--but still, they're making the most of it. A lot of people seem happy.

And that's a good thing. She's a firm believer in positivity helping you make it through anything.

Which is why she's got a smile on her face when the video clicks on; she's honestly delighted at the prospect of meeting so many new faces. And at the possibility that maybe, just maybe (however unlikely) her long-lost best friends might be here, too. In the very least she's gotten off the island and is now living an adventure of her own. It's daunting as heck, but pretty exciting, too.

And oh, yeah! This thing is recording. Uhhhhh. ]

You know, one of my friends used to be convinced that there was a whole other world under the sea. But she said you'd have to sprout gills and fins to get there. Wait until I tell her you don't need to! She won't believe me.

[ Her grin warms, and she waves. ]

I've gotta thank the Welcoming Committee for that map, you guys are lifesavers. But all the maps in the world aren't going to materialize a couple of boys out of thin air. So I'm wondering if anyone seen a guy named Riku, or... or...

[ She frowns, furrowing her brow in mild annoyance. She still can't remember. ]

I don't know what his name is, but he'd probably be hanging around with Riku.

So, has anyone seen them? I need to give them a talking to.

[ The grin turns into a playful smirk, and then the transmission ends. ]

I was just remembering how you didn't really train with us that much and was wondering if you wanted help catching up. [Especially with how some things happened here. Geez.]

[ W e l p. Kairi had only been teasing before. Now? She can't care less. She's laughing along with him, because that is a sound she's sure she won't hear often for a good while. It's music to her ears, and she ends up doubled over and holding her sides because they hurt so badly from the force of her laughter.

Somehow she manages to nod weakly to his guess, and sucks in a looooong inhale before wiping the tears of mirth from her eyes. Good sweet Light, she'd needed that! And so had he. ]

Oh yeah. She's a good friend, but I was about ready to hold those books for ransom.

[It is definitely a sound that has rarely been heard since they left the islands. The sound of her laughter was one thing he had once been sure that he'd never hear again, unable to face her or Sora with how he once appeared--with this darkness in his heart. Fate was almost funny in it being Kairi's light and his inability to refuse her friendship that not only got him to follow even when he looked like him, but also caused him to laugh again.

Even if she doesn't know about the former just yet.]

Can't say I blame you.

[You do not want to hear about the horror stories of the boys being chased by her mere mention of 'dress up' before you washed ashore that night, Kairi. You really don't. There was a reason Riku and Sora raced so much and just never stopped when they got older.]

Then it's settled. [Eye twinkle. Kairi, you better be ready for this~] Just give a call when you're ready. I'm usually in the park during my time off.

[ Someday she will know about the latter thing. And she will be all the more glad that she's been able to leave home and find him. He doesn't need to be alone anymore. Alone as in.. without either of his BFFs at least. ]

Wakka hid a few in the Seaside Shack once. She was mopey for days until Tidus found them.

[ Woe unto them all that that derp had done so. :/ And she probably doesn't. Kairi's always been more the kind of girl to like getting her hands dirty and playing with the boys over... being overly girly. ]

Great! [ Thus why she's so OMG excited. ] When do you have time off?

[Good luck prying it out of him, Kairi- he won't be admitting it any time soon if this is anything to go by.]

Again? Man, Wakka needs to find a better hiding place.

I normally only have shifts in the early morning and midday unless something's going on and they need me to put extra hours in. [Not that he minded, judging by his expression.]

[ Oh, come on! She's your best friend. :cccc ]

[ An exaggerated sigh, and she grins. ]

Oh, well. Guess we've got time to catch up, huh?

Fair enough. [He nods, nonchalantly motioning for her to follow him.] I guess not.
