There's a lot of ways you can take this definition, but most people take it to mean someone who will guide people to a better world. Sometimes it involves punishing the wicked, and sometimes it doesn't.

So, Vatheon. What would you expect someone like this to be like? What would you expect them to act like? And what would you expect them to do?

the definition of a 'better world' is pretty individual based don't you agree?? after all, some interesting fellows of the past, could and were seen as messiahs to the people to provide for a better world only to later have people tear them down and slap the label of 'worlds worst man ever' on their head. in other words, someone like oh say Adolf Hitler [[Since we seem to be from the same sort of universe lapse over here I'm assuming you know the guy]] who could have totally preached a better world and act as a messiah

and since i have gathered, collectively from long-term observations, that the majority, i'd say 90%, of the people collected here in this underwater city are something of importance to their homes from where they were pulled from

it doesn't really seem like anyone who is dragged to vatheon was unimportant useless or powerless. even the people who seem it aren't. there's no one simple here. no one completely harmless either in mental or physical or emotional capabilities

What sort of "messiah" someone is depends entirely upon which god they are following, does it not? If they aren't divinely guided, then I would not consider someone to be a messiah.

I would expect such a figure, if not Jesus, to be as Christ-like as possible. I believe that it is an easy thing for humans to want to punish the wicked, to grant them forgiveness is a higher task, something that a messiah would need to do.

As for what I would expect a Messiah to do....That depends a lot on what the world needs.

The Messiah in my world isn't Jesus. I've never met him. I didn't even really believe in angels or God until the week leading up to when I came here. I don't think anyone can deny their existence now.
