...what seems to be the low-lit interior of something more akin to a cave than a room, littered with messy piles of soft scraps and plushies and yarn and even the occasional teapot.

A monstrous shadow looms on the wall, a fearsome looking four-horned creature.]

You're the best, Gamzee! I'd nefur have been able to reach to use all that extra wall if you weren't here, nope nope nope!

[And with a squawk the chocobo drops the SFC, sending it cartwheeling until it points at the origins of that shadow, a messier-than-usual kitty troll perched on a clown troll's shoulders, various hues of paint staining her hands and clothes and even her cheeks, still dripping a bright red from an outstretched paintbrush that had been adding the finishing touches to a heart high up on:]

Oh, Pounce! Hi Pounce! I'm really glad that Gamzee brought you to visi...POUNCE WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?! OH NOOOOO...

[She attempts to leap at the wall to block it from view; this doesn't go well when instead it just makes both trolls topple over in a tangle of limbs.]

[Karkat pauses then, gaze drifting up to the eyes of the image on his screen. Something softens, no longer so stern, letting through the feelings stirred by both those mentions and Eridan's consideration.]

That would be kinda nice. Just not the actual 14th, since that's when--when Gamzee--last year, I'm going to want to do something with him then. But otherwise we can just... pick a day, do something then.

[Wha--Oh. Oh, yeah Eridan knows what day that is, even if he wasnt't here for it. He's heard enough about it, knows its significance, and even he isn't boorish enough to try and deny Karkat that day. He offers a nod.]

Well, we can figure it out after you'we had your day with Gam, then.

[He's actually really relieved Karkat does want to, not that he really thought Karkat would say no, but there's always a possibility for disappointment. Some greater than others. Just, he really needs this sort of thing after everything that's happened. Sure they've relaxed some, but they haven't exactly spent any quality, romantic time with each other, and damnit, Eridan wants that ok!]

[Soft gratitude flits across his face at him understanding that much.]

Okay, that works. Just think about what I said earlier in the meanwhile, then later we can work out a day, like you said.

[He hesitates a second, like he isn't sure if he should anything... then sets the SFC down on his lap. This gets a view of the ceiling above, but then his hands come into the frame, curled into a fleeting heart gesture. Then he clicks it off.]

[Oh no you don't, Karkat. You are not going to do something that sickeningly adorable and just CLICK OFF THE FEED. Nope, not happening. Eridan is not allowing this! He's going to find you, yes he is, he's going to find you! In fact, after a small search, he's found himself one(1) Karkat Vantas! Chilling out in his room(Who'd of thought!), and after a courtesy knock, he's basically letting himself in, crossing the distance(remarkably not tripping on anything!) and joining Karkat on his bed, if only to just wrap the other up in his arms before planting a kiss right on his lips. Yeah, you thought you could get away with being adorable, guess this sure showed you!]

[After that exchange, Karkat is just fiddling around with other stuff on there, nothing important. Maybe just for something to do with his hands while he thinks over Eridan's idea. Soon enough, though, he hears approaching footsteps, then the knock, and as soon as he can turn to the door the fish prince himself is barging on in.]

Wha--

[He can hardly say anything before Eridan takes a seat beside him. The communicator gets dropped off his lap as arms come up around him, and he's drawn into the kiss.]

Eri--jackass, lemme--

[But it's kind of hard to make flustered protestations when his mouth is being occupied by a pair of fishlips.]

[Karkat loves these fishlips, so why should he even protest? He'd just be denying himself something he loves! Eridan's not gonna let Karkat do that, what kind of matesprit would he even be if he did?]

[No, instead he's just gonna hold him close and continue to smooch the smaller troll in his arms, because lets be honest here, it's been a good while since these two have done any good teenaged-smooching and they are long overdue! They might as well be paying late fees!]

[Oh shush! He can complain if he wants, and being flustered and caught off guard (and naturally shy about this) are plenty good reasons, right?]

[Right?]

[Okay, so maybe it's kind of empty, especially after the whole hand heart thing and promise to have a romantic day together in the future. Not to mention the stress they've been under up until recently, and how that has eaten up his attention from other things - like this. But when he does give in and kiss back, he proves it entirely possible to do in a grumpy, half-begrudging kind of way. He's got appearances to keep up, you know, even if he's fooling pretty much no one.]

[You don't need to fake appearances for Eridan, Karkat. He's your damn matesprit after all, so you can try to be grumpy and begrudging, but it's really pointless! It won't deter Eridan and his affections, not one bit! Especially with how he's working his lips against Karkat, before he swipes his tongue across them, almost as inquisitive as it is playful. He knows how shy Karkat is, and sometimes the reaction is what he goes for, but not now particularly, wanting nothing more than to really just have some much needed affection with his matesprit after everything.]

[He has a point! He just... kind of loses it along the way, because if anything Eridan's mouth is persuasive, beyond the noted inquisitive and playful properties. Karkat eases against him, if with some token hesitance, allowing the deepening of the kiss. The affection is pretty nice. He likes to feel valued, and if anything the sea dweller is good at reminding him of that fact. His arms slip around him, and soon enough his hands are curled into the cape at his back, using it to keep him close.]
