No matter where you go, it's always the same; people think they're invulnerable. They believe that no matter what happens, they'll stay in their safe little shell. They judge and threaten people from the shadows and don't fear retribution. It's because deep down, they wait for the strike, expecting it, and...

There's a moment where they let their guard down. That's when the pieces will move in for the checkmate.

The question is, how do you know if you're the one who's going to get closed in on? Or are you the one moving the pieces?

Too much confidence can also lead to your downfall. Be wary of that.

Isn't it confidence without strategy that causes that? Like void confidence.

There still stands a chance of overconfidence, doesn't it? Strategy or no strategy, even the most brilliant tacticians are prone to fall when they believe they can't be beaten.

That's just their own strategy getting trumped by another person's though. Attitude itself can be a strategy too, you know. Intimidation can affect the other party in surprisingly convenient ways.

I believe in intimidation as well. Is it really strategy getting trumped by another's, or were they careless enough to make mistakes because of their overconfidence? That's just as possible.

Anyone can make a strategy, but only certain people can execute it successfully.

It's more competence than confidence when it comes to execution-- but I understand what you're saying. It depends on whether or not the person is deserving of the confidence they have, otherwise they'll fall flat. Actions speak louder than words, after all. So the real question is if you have the competence to match your confidence.

So it comes full circle.

I suppose you'll have to be the judge of that, won't you? I don't know how well you'd believe an anonymous face when I say I'm fully competent in my abilities.
