Born in 1604, not officially a country yet but a small child that which represented the land colonies began to form on! Passed around through town and town before being discovered by England and France. The two fought over who would be the one to "claim" this land and England won, raising me to maturity until 1776 where I faced him on the battlefield, guns pointed to each other and declared by independence.

Life continued. England grew resentful yet him being him, there was not much to do about it from then on. I prospered, I grew strong and large! My country became a true country and I became a true personification. My strength lies in the people, my happiness lies in the country, my life in the hands of the free.

Perhaps that does not convince you I'm truthful but it is, in fact, the truth.
