Video - A very offended monster
[When the feed opens, the Gromble is all smiles and sweetness. Even his voice is cloying, a stark contrast to his hideous appearance.]
Oh hello Vatheon. I must say, I've been oh so pleasantly surprised with how friendly the humans here are. Of course...
[Suddenly the sweet tone of voice is gone, replaced by something low and dangerous.]
It was clearly an act to put monsters off guard.
[He perks up again, tittering.]
Now I know you might not all be aware of this, so I'm going to give you a little lesson in monster history. Thousands of years ago, monsters were born from human imagination. Back then the human imagination was quite a powerful thing, you know. We hardly had to do any work at all. Unfortunately, humans now have become obsessed with science and refuse to openly believe in anything they don't understand. We monsters scare the humans to fuel their imagination, which in turn allows us to continue existing. A properly educated monster will only scare humans, they will not harm them. So!
I would like you all to bring any wayward monsters to me. Do not slaughter them and take their parts for jewelry or potion ingredients or points or for whatever other "loot" they might have. This questing behavior is really quite appalling, and you wouldn't want to harm a frightened creature who doesn't know any better...
WOULD YOU?!
Tata~

[ Have an amused smirk from this. ]
If you'll allow me to digress from the matter at hand. I have to admit, this is the first time I've come face to face with a self-confessed monster.
[ Because really, most "monsters" just tend to be low leveled demons. ]

We typically don't go announcing the fact. Humans fear what they don't understand, and supplying them with understanding is very dangerous for us. We wouldn't want to end up on one of their little lab tables somewhere. Though if I'm understanding the situation correctly here, this whole city is one big lab table, so there's no reason to dance around the facts.

They're a naturally curious race, I find. However, they indeed hold no limit with their curiosity and thus they end up biting off more than they can chew. But please, tell me more.
[ Leaning forward in his seat. ]
What's this about a properly educated monster? From one educator to another, I find myself intrigued.

[The Gromble starts skittering around his room in the dump. The only clean item in the entire room? His shining red pumps.]
Since scaring and running does not necessarily come naturally to a monster, we have a Monster Academy where young monsters learn to properly engage with humans. Monsters who do not conform are not allowed to go to the surface, and they are...
[He giggles.]
Well, they are punished accordingly.

One could say your methods sound almost medieval... but then, I tend to forget where you started, don't I? The dark ages were indeed very truly dark. There was your kind, dreamed up by humanity or so you claim and my kind.
[ Tiny sneer hidden by a small sip of tea. ]
Of course, we've been corporeal for quite a bit more time than you have.... but I do see the resemblance.

He smiles slyly, clacking back over to the camera.]
The unknown darkness that lurks in corners and closets in the night and the more familiar darkness that lurks in their hearts... why, I'd say we're almost family.
[Though in the Gromble's opinion, a demon is far more frightening than a monster. Nothing is as ugly as the rotten underside of humanity.]

[ Sipping more tea now as he considers something. ]
You know, we should do lunch, you and I. Once you've settled in, of course. The city is far more amusing the longer you stay in it.

[When he thinks of all those monsters out there, no doubt lost and confused and being cut down for no good reason... it breaks his heart. It really does.]

[ Tiny smile. ]
Have you heard of something called an RPG?
no subject
[Though it does sound a little familiar. What was that human game? Dungeons and drudges? No, that's not it.]
What is an RPG?
no subject
[ Pressing his fingertips together. ]
Humans banding together doing a series of quests which at times involve battling both monsters and demons alike. It's quite a common form of entertainment, really.

[It's still kind of sick that they want to pretend to be heroes killing monsters and demons, but it's better than actual monsters being killed.]

[ Glancing out the window now. ]
I've been here for at least half a year and this is the first time I've seen an actual game brought to life so... vividly. I must say. I find this far more fascinating than I thought it would be.

[He lets out a high pitched giggle.]
I do hope some of them are at least a little afraid?
no subject
[ Smirking back over his tea. ]
I suppose that counts as fear, in a way?
no subject
[He wants to see some humans quaking in their boots! It's best for everyone if they don't die, but a good show after all this mental distress would be appreciated greatly.]
no subject
[ Smirking back because really. He wants a show. ]
It would be breaking tradition otherwise.
