[Saix really doesn't want to admit it, because that would make Axel right, but it's simply fact that he realizes once he's back in his own body instead of stuck in Axel's. It reminded him of what it felt like to be Isa a little bit, and it also reminded him of how it had felt when he had first joined the Organization. How he is now is... different. It's the Darkness. It feels thicker, like a heavy fog. He knows he's done some horrible things in the name of his goal, but never cared because the end justified the means. Still, this almost feels like too much.]

[Saix spends the day trying to convince himself that he's just letting himself fall into the same delusional trap that Axel has, but in the end, he has to know.]

[So you'll be seeing this guy on the SFC today, looking as calm and apathetic as ever.]

I'm curious, but are there any in Vatheon who are knowledgeable in the spiritual heart of a person? Perhaps the better, more general word would be 'soul'.

[A body, a mind, and a 'heart'- that's what makes a person, isn't it? But take away the 'heart', have it be lost to Heartless, and you're left with a body and a mind. A Nobody...]

I'm always amused when people start questioning this.

[ Barry peers curiously at the screen. He's seen Saix around, but he's never bothered to really speak with him before, but this sort of philosophical inquiry intrigues him. ]

I don't really care about your amusement. If you don't have an answer, then I'm not interested in anything you have to say.

[There's no reason not to be blunt about that.]

[ Barry's smile widened. He enjoyed blunt; he enjoyed angry too. It was such a lovely emotion. ]

What do you want to know?

[He's not exactly sure if he trusts that smile... But Saix never trusts most people who smile at him, so.]

Can a soul change?

[ Smart man. ]

Hm, some people would try to say it does, but I don't think that's really true.

[ But then Barry was stubborn. ]

I see. What about losing it?

You mean is it possible to lose it and survive?

[ Barry smiled. ]

I really don't think it's a necessary thing. A soul is such a heavy burden.

You're the second person to say such a thing. Is a soul not necessary for enjoyment, and making connections with other people, then?

I don't believe so.

[ Barry shrugged a shoulder. ]

But then a soul is a very tricky thing. Some people would say it's not really possible to lose your soul, since it's not really yours to begin with.

[Well. That's something he hasn't heard before.]

Then who does it truly belong to, then?

[ Barry points upwards. ]

That depends on the religion, but usually they mean the creator. Pick your poison, they have many names and many faces, and is discussed in many different religions and philosophies.

Personally I don't agree with that sentiment. Surely it's too much for one deity to handle, and if they cared so much souls wouldn't be nearly as corruptible as they are.

I find it difficult to believe as well. Even those who don't necessarily believe in a creator or religion of any sort still have souls. I've seen that enough where I'm from.

[ Barry leaned a bit closer to the screen, honestly curious. ]

What is a soul in your world like?

In my universe, we call it a 'Heart'- it's the shape they take when they're pried forcibly from your body, at least for a moment. They're part of what truly makes a person. You need a heart, a mind, and a body to store both in. If you lose your heart and manage to survive the process, you're not truly a person by the standards of others, not anymore. You lose the ability to feel emotion. You become empty.

During the time I was taken from, that was a greater danger than before thanks to creatures called 'Heartless'. They're creatures composed of pure Darkness and which have a massive hunger for the Hearts of both people and that of a World itself. The more they took down, the more the Hearts were corrupted and changed into Heartless as well.

Demons?

[ That's what it sounded like, at least to Barry, even if they didn't call them that. ]

There are some who believe that demons are made from humans who have lost their souls. Not all of course, some are far more special than that, but some demons.

I think they're older than any demons I've seen on the Worlds I've visited.

[Then again, that's only speculation. Saix has no idea how long Heartless have really existed in the world.]

If that's the case, than it's the remnants the Heartless leave behind which could be classified as 'demons'.

Older than demons?

[ Barry couldn't imagine that. Though he knew there were some forces on Earth that were perhaps older he couldn't really be sure. Since he was only a replica, he was actually younger. ]

I see.

[ Barry paused for a moment. ]

And what prompted this question?

...I don't have a heart myself.

[ Barry's head tilted to the side. He had been lucky enough to avoid the body switch curse of last week, but he had seen enough of it's effects via the network. ]

I assume you were lucky enough to have adopted one last week?

[Saix's lips thin just slightly before smoothing out.]

Something to that effect, yes.

Do you miss it?

[ Barry's face pulled into a small smile. ]

Considering that, for a human, the heart is a vital part of them, then I think there would be something wrong with me if I didn't miss it.

[ Barry chuckled lightly. ]

I'm afraid I'll never understand this want of a heart.

[ Other than for consumption of course. ]

Can you feel emotion?

[ Barry thought about that for a moment. ]

In a manner of speaking, though as I've been told, my moral's are a bit skewed. Personally I see nothing wrong with it.
