3rd Transmission [Video]
[Vatheon now has one (1) pigtailed schoolgirl on the network again. Surprise, it's Maka! She looks a bit cheerier since her initial arrival and is waving at the screen.]
Hello! I've noticed that there are some very big differences between my world and the other worlds here, not just Vatheon, but it's a little hard to explain all the differences so...[she holds up some cards with drawings on them to the screen] I thought it'd be better if I just pointed out the major differences right now! I'm not an artist by any means, but I figured a visual would make things clearer and...I don't want to bug my roommate. He's busy drawing his own picture of the sun.
Anyway! Let's start—
The biggest difference people from my world—more specifically, from Death City—tend to notice right away is that the sun and moon don't look very normal. Normal for us, I mean.

This is our sun! He's always in a good mood, even when it's really hot outside. Before you ask, no, he never talks...he just laughs. [She shrugs and shuffles up the next card.]

This is our moon! Yes, that's blood. Yeah it drips down from the sky sometimes. It's really gross.
Besides that, I notice that the sun and the moon here seem a lot farther away than ours? Or at least it looks that way, they look so small!
[She puts these cards down and faces the screen, not holding up any cards this time.]
I'm noticing that this next thing I'm going to mention is a little...well, not normal for other people. But one of my abilities is seeing souls—Kid, my roommate can, too. But he's a death god, they have that ability by default. I don't have it turned on all the time, though, don't worry! I'm not constantly peeking at your souls, but if I am I usually see something like this—

This is a regular human soul—yes, I know that not everyone here is a human, I'll get to that in a second. But if I concentrate, I can pick out forms or personality traits like this—

This is what my soul looks like through Soul Perception, so I've been told. They're not all orange, they can come in a variety of colors except purple and red. Those colors are usually indicative of kishin eggs—or I guess I would call them corrupted souls here—and Witch souls. Like I said, I don't have Soul Perception constantly turned on, so that might be different for any of you.
[Maka puts these cards down now and prepares the next ones.]
The ability to see souls isn't a common thing, either, only certain Meisters are able to do it. This brings me to the next point: there are two factions that work for the Death Weapon Meister Academy, Weapons and Meisters. Weapons are people with the ability to change into weapons and Meisters are the people that have the ability to wield them. They keep the peace together. It's pretty straightforward!

Weapons and Meisters are partners, so obviously they have a pretty close bond. Not just anyone can be partners, though, their souls have to resonate with each other—or be "in tune" I guess I should say. Even if you're friends with a Weapon or a Meister, that doesn't mean you can partner with them.

That's what happened with my partner Soul and our friend Black*Star. Black*Star wasn't able to lift him and ended up hurting Soul in the attempt.
Lower level partners are usually sent out on missions by the DWMA to thwart any damage done by corrupted souls as well as feeding 99 of these souls and one witch soul to the Weapon to create a Death Scythe. Yes, the weapons eat souls, no I can't tell you what they taste like; Meisters have no need for it and Soul was very vague when I asked him. [Now she looks stern as she holds up the first soul card she showed in addition to the next one.] Let me be clear when I say that Weapons do NOT eat these souls. That's completely unethical and actually creates kishin in the first place. They eat THESE—

[Shaking the "good" soul card again.] Not these.
That's about all there is to say about the major differences...I mean I do have a card of our leader, Lord Death, but I wasn't really sure how to fit it in to the information in general.

--Kid, please don't tell me that it's hideous, I know and I'm sorry I can't render your dad realistically okay?
Anyway, um...that's all I have to say about this. I hope you found this helpful and will refer back to it if you're ever thrown off by something I or someone from my world says. [A sharp nod and a smile.] Thank you for your time!

Interesting.
[See, he didn't say impossible, or wrong, so he took at least some of the lesson that Kid tried to teach him.]
[not here]
[And detecting insanity on the moon, nbd.]
[Knowing I-No, Ky can believe that.]

I'm fairly certain that the witch I know just has a hat and a guitar.

[A pause, and then Ky continues, carefully...]
You say that that last picture is Kid's father?
[The fact that he namedropped Kid piques her curiosity!]
You know Kid?
[Ky should actually probably not get into any of that.]
I'm sorry, I think I should go.

Yes.
[He's so not good at controlling what he's feeling, so he's just going to end the call here before he says something he regrets.]
