Wakey, Wakey, Selphie!~

*So Selphie might look a little sleepy, and her hair's a little more tousled than usual. But at least she's sitting up in bed, even if she is still in her pyjamas. Yes, she's been dead asleep for over a week now, but she always still finds herself exhausted at the end of it. It's happened a couple of times now, and she's not really surprised*

Whoa... A new year and I've slept for most of it already! Boo!

*Selphie sits up straighter in bed and smiles*

Did you really?!

*Y'know, paying more attention to the missed you bit, because that's what Selphie does*

Are you in the house?

[ well, now that the cat's outta the bag... ]

Indeed. The house is rather quiet and uneventful without you.

I am downstairs, yes.

Yay! I'll be down in a second!

*So she jumps, or half-falls, out of her bed and pulls a kimono on over her night clothes. She skips down the stairs, keeping and eye out for Moses too*

[ Kenshin's sitting in the living room on the floor, dressed relatively casually, drinking tea. ]

*Selphie smiles brightly as she practically bounces into the room and plops herself right beside him*

I'm awake now! I hope Moses took good care of you while I was asleep.

A pleasure to see you awake and lively. Indeed Moses was quite the diligent caretaker.

Good! Whatcha been up?

*And she'll just look at see if there's a tea cup handy for her. If there's not she'll have to get one from the kitchen!*

Nothing particularly eventful.

[ he notices her looking and rises. ]

Would you like some tea, as well?

*Selphie settles back into her seated position and rubs gently at one of her eyes*

Yes, please! I'm still a little sleepy.

Certainly love [ AHEM.... ] Excuse me. I shall fetch some tea which will help restore you.

[ he grabs the teapot as well, toting it to the kitchen and getting some fresh tea which will help her wake up a bit. (he saves the other tea, of course, because you don't waste good tea). He soon returns with the teapot and an extra cup. ]

*Love? Did he just say that? Selphie watches him go, tilting her head and rubbing at the other eye. She's probably just half asleep still is all. She smiles sleepily up at him when he returns*

Thanks. I'm still kinda sleepy, so I'd probably spill it if I got it myself.

*Not that she didn't spill some every time she made tea*

[ Kenshin notices the lack of response to the love. Thank the gods. This curse was just getting weird and uncomfortable. He isn't quite sure where some of this is coming from, but after the new year's festival, he just felt closer to her. ]

*Selphie happily took up her cup and blew across the top to cool it down. Satisfied, she takes a sip, and she smiles*

So good! I feel better already!

Most excellent. I am certain your friends will be pleased to hear you are awake as well.

*She nods, and drinks some more tea for a while*

I can't believe I've missed the start of the year...

There is still much time left in the year, and we were able to welcome the first hours of the day at the festival with a kiss. [ a pause... ]

*Selphie flushes pink immediately at the mention of the kiss. She stares into the bottom of her cup for a moment before putting it down on the table in front of them*

...mmhmm...

*She hadn't forgotten at all - and it was still so nice to think about, that she smiles*

[ kenshin pauses for a moment. ]

It was indeed a pleasant means to start the new year. I would start it no other way.

*She turns to him then, perhaps a little too quickly, and her eyes are wide and hopeful as she looks at him*

Me neither.

*But then her expression darkens a little*

Are you okay?

[ he smiles softly. ]

It is part of a curse where one seems to say thoughts without hesitation, though I will not deny there is some truth to it so far.

SOME truth? But only some...?

*She's not really sure how to take that, so she just pours more tea*

Guess I won't know until the curse is over..

[ he pauses. That did sound rather cold, but Kenshin did come across as cold quite often... Yet somehow, in this particular situation, it didn't feel right. He doesn't like to see Selphie upset... ]

Indeed. I do care for you deeply and I would not wish for any harm to be brought to you in any manner. There is much truth to that.

Well... Is it a curse that makes you lie? Or exaggerate everything...? Or what?

*because maybe he didn't enjoy their small kiss all that much, or maybe he didn't really mean deeply and somehow, it really mattered that she knew*

I am uncertain of the exact details. I shall be honest with you, as you are my dearest friend. So far, the curse has forced me to speak from the deepest parts of my mind and heart.

[ He pauses. While he can flirt, he doesn't really get close to people... ] I love and adore you and wish nothing bad will harm you in any way. [ well there's always a curse to help with that. ]

[ he draws her close and into his arms. No sense in denying it, especially to someone he holds so dear. ] That is the truth.

*Selphie just gasps at first, and she's really genuinely struck dumb. As he holds her close she just hopes so much that he really means it. But he hadn't said it and run away. Instead she was closer, and she managed a soft whisper*
