Wakey, Wakey, Selphie!~

*So Selphie might look a little sleepy, and her hair's a little more tousled than usual. But at least she's sitting up in bed, even if she is still in her pyjamas. Yes, she's been dead asleep for over a week now, but she always still finds herself exhausted at the end of it. It's happened a couple of times now, and she's not really surprised*

Whoa... A new year and I've slept for most of it already! Boo!

*She blinked up at him shyly, blushing*

Maybe... you should kiss me again...

If you wish so. [ not like he has any objections anyway. He takes her chin gingerly in his hand and kisses her gently on the cheek. ]

*All at once, Selphie beams, giggles, pounces, and presses a little kiss at his lips*

[ he's pretty surprised by the action. Kissing is still a foreign thing, after all. He knows Selphie means well, but he still looks shocked. ]

*Oops. Selphie wasn't sure what she was expecting, but it wasn't shock. She's quick to pull away and scramble to her feet. She moves to grab her tea cup, but bumps herself into the table. Soon as she can, she's taking that cup into the kitchen, because it seems like an urgently important thing to do*

[ he sits for a moment. What an odd sensation. What an odd reaction. He must've offended her somehow. Damn cultural miscommunications. ]

I do believe you have taken me by surprise.

[ which is a rather odd statement, as the war god rarely is surprised and completely dumbfounded. What would one do after such an interaction? ]

A surprise which I would not mind experiencing once again.

*Selphie has her back turned, close as she was to escaping from the room before he spoke. She's hunching her shoulders, staring at the cup in her hands*

Well then - you can. And you don't have to ask. Just... you can. If you want to.

[ man he screwed this up, didn't he? ]

Have I offended you?

*Shake head, shake head.

Okay, so he kind of had. That wasn't how you were supposed to react to a kiss from someone you had just confessed love to.

But maybe it was her fault. Maybe she'd just done the wrong thing, or maybe he hadn't really meant what he said after all - it was the curse!

So she spins round, eyes closed tight but a smile on her face*

I'm fine!

[ he's not really buying that... He looks kinda concerned. ]

I can make some more tea, if you'd like. Or perhaps some fresh mochi?

*Her face falls for just a moment, but then he mentions mochi and she brightens a little*

Will you make me some mochi?

I have some fresh already made, if you would like it. It is strawberry mochi with a whole strawberry inside.

*Selphie smiles at Kenshin before turning again to disappear into the kitchen, where she was headed anyway, and she goes looking for where the fresh mochi is*

The mochi is in the gold box next to the sink.

*She finds the box, and balances her teacup on as she carries it back into the living room. She puts them down on the table, and sits right beside Kenshin again*

[ he offers an appreciative nod and is quite happy she's sitting next to him. He opens the box and offers her one with a soft smile. The mochi is rather large in order to encompass the entire strawberry, but they're really yummy. ]

*She takes one and smiles*

Wow! Kenny, this one's pretty big!

*She laughs appreciatively all the same, wondering the safest way to eat it*

You're so clever making these!

[ he takes a bite of one himself, then laughs lightly. He can't take credit for something he didn't make ]

Alas I have no talent in the kitchen. I could not make these. My apologies if I have disappointed you.

*Selphie just laughs too before taking a bite, and she happily chews and swallows*

Then I should learn to make them! They're so delicious!

*She just leans against him as she continues to munch through the mochi*

That would be most wonderful.

There are so many combinations of mochi and fillings.

[ though making mochi is a long and complicated process... ]

*She pauses and looks at the thing in her hand and gives a little sigh*

I think it's probably too hard for me. I gotta start with something easy...

*And she frowns at it for a moment before taking another bite*

Perhaps rice balls?

Rice balls? Like just...rice... in a ball? So that's not hard!

*Oh so desperate to be sure to seem useful*

So...what else have you been telling people with this curse?

Indeed. Some have food in the center, such as crab meat or cucumbers.

Currently I have only spoken my feelings.

*She thinks about this for a moment, and decides that strawberries are definitely better*
