Wakey, Wakey, Selphie!~

*So Selphie might look a little sleepy, and her hair's a little more tousled than usual. But at least she's sitting up in bed, even if she is still in her pyjamas. Yes, she's been dead asleep for over a week now, but she always still finds herself exhausted at the end of it. It's happened a couple of times now, and she's not really surprised*

 

Whoa... A new year and I've slept for most of it already! Boo!

Anything exciting happen while I was out?

[It's decided then!

She removes her hand and leaves the book open to that page to refer to while they work, and she moves to get the ingredients ready.]

Should we make a lot? If they turn out well, I might take some back to my friends at the Volo Dorms...

*Selphie nods brightly, getting the utensils ready and sorting out the scales with some epic concentration*

That's a good idea! A bunch of batches maybe, and see what's best!

All right!

[Staring as she does all that. She's really excited! And then she realizes she needs to be helping too, so she opens a tube of cookie dough; and pulls out the stencil-like things they'll use to make them star, moon and sun-shaped.

Then she looks at the bags of regular, dark, and white chocolate chips.]

We'll need to add these ourselves; looks like the dough's plain.

[booyaka_boom]

*La, la, la. Cooking and baking. Selphie picks up the white choc chips first and pours some out into her hand, offering some to Yukari*

Read my mind.

[Yukari laughs as she takes some and puts them in her mouth. She works with Selphie to distribute the chips evenly in their first batch, and after a while of molding them into the proper shapes, she peeks at the oven.]

Guess we'll have to pre-heat this, huh?

[Well, they're almost done with said first batch, anyway. All the pretty stars!]

Pre-heat?

*Selphie panics and looks at the list of instructions. Dur - pre-heat is the first thing!*

Oops! Sure! I'll do that!

*She concentrates hard, but eventually gets the oven pre-heated!*

[No wories, Selphie. After all, Yukari technically didn't notice it either, until just now. So she nods when she sees her working on preheating the oven, and in the meantime finishes arranging the dough on a pan to be put inside.

Not too bad, if she does say so herself. : |b]

Okay...

*Selphie begins looking around for an oven glove. There's a big pink one with some hearts on it lying around somewhere...*

Now we just gotta put them in, right?

Exactly!

[She doesn't know what Selphie is looking for, but she spots it anyway and, after admiring how cute it looks, puts it on. The pan isn't hot just yet, but, well...

Might as well use it.

Once everything is set, she puts in the first batch!]

[booyaka_boom]

*Oh, good! At least Yukari found it. Selphie watches as she gets everything all put away, and she claps her hands as the oven is closed*

Yay! We did it!

[tsundyne]

We did! [a bit of a laugh] I guess now comes the hard part: waiting.

[Now that they've done it once, the other batches would go much faster!]

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie crouches down in front of the oven and stares in, doing the waiting. Then something occurs to her and she jumps up*

Did we time when they went in?!

[tsundyne]

...!

[Oops. She's staring, too, but when Selphie asks the question, she perks up, alarmed.]

N-No! But it shouldn't be too late... [She starts messing with the panel to bring up the timer on the stove.] Quick, how long does it say we need?

[booyaka_boom]

Uh..

*Selphie quickly picks up the book and takes a proper look*

15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown... That's what it says!

[tsundyne]

[Silently, she sets it for fifteen minutes then, figuring that they can just add on more time if they need to. And then she lets out a sigh of relief.]

There we go. We'll be okay!

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie glances around the little kitchen, and all its clutter, and now its mess!*

So...I guess we clean up while it bakes?

[tsundyne]

[Oh, right!

...Yeah, it does look kind of bad, huh. She glances around too and nods.]

Good idea. I'll give you a hand.

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie fills up the basin with hot water and probably way too many lemon scented bubbles. She begins to just dump everything in the sink when she stops to look at the oven*

Mmm! It smells so good!

[tsundyne]

Doesn't it? I think they'll turn out really well!

[She helpfully starts putting things in the sink as well to be washed, and glances over to the oven when she does.]

Should be good practice for Valentines' Day next month.

[booyaka_boom]

*Valentine's Day?! Oh no! Selphie drops a plate into the sink and it makes a big plonk, splashing all over her*

Oh!

S-Selphie?!

[She braces for the worst, thinking the plate is going to break...but hearing no large crash, she peers over the sink to see the damage.

Luckily, it's still in one piece somehow. Phew.]

Watch it, okay? Y'don't wanna hurt yourself.

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie just giggles nervously and resumes cleaning the plate*

Heh...Sorry... I guess it was just slippy..

[Heh. Yukari giggles a little too, putting a hand on her shoulder as a calming gesture.]

It's okay...

[As long as she is, anyway. She doesn't look hurt.]

Had you forgotten? [About v-day, that is—]

*If Selphie looks panicked, it's only for a moment. But then she does her best to do a casual shoulder shrug*

Oh, yeah, but uh..that's okay!

[tsundyne]

[She doubts everyone here even knows about V-Day in the first place, so...really, she's not judging. She merely gives a nod of understanding.]

'Course. No big deal. I wonder if Kenshin even knows what it is...
