Interactive Dream | Open

[It starts off slow, quiet, and still, a grey and eerie fog settled over a dark background filled with absolute nothingness, before suddenly--]

I'll kill you...I'LL KILL YOU ALL!!!

[The voice is raw and loud as it rips through the open and steel-cold air and somewhere in thedistance you may encounter a sudden burst of heat. It intensifies, white hot and blistering, until finally reds and yellows explode into vision and reveal hellish destruction--Flames several feet high engulf some nondescript world filled with broken pieces of castles and skyscrapers, ashes rain down from dark clouds above, and amidst the bitter scent of smoke and blood is Axel, standing with his gloved hands gripping tightly onto both sides of his head.

There's little sound, nothing but crackling and the swish of fire, but if you look closer or if you approach him suddenly he'll exclaim again with that same raw voice.]

GET BACK!!!

[Perhaps you'll persist or maybe you'll only stare from the outside in, but either way he'll scream at you and his flames will burn brighter, until finally Axel darts his head up to reveal once bright green eyes now glazed over with nothing but lifeless amber. Voices invade his mind, the sound of people screaming, people laughing, crying--

...No one would miss me.

And from there all he can do is destroy just as everything else has done to him.]

[Distress and anger written all over his face, Axel can't escape from his dream on his own. So, please, wake him if you wish.]

((OOC: Please state in your subject line if you want to interact with him in this dream! If that's the case, you'll most likely be hit with a barrage of dangerous attacks until Axel wakes up, because this dream is his subconscious mind revealing most if not all of his pent-up anger with friends and his past, and therefore he'll be violent and "berserk," as it were. Amber eyes represent something pretty hard to explain in KH-verse, but I thought they'd look kind of cool on him. |D If you choose to just watch, feel free to wake him up or, if you wish, barge into his room to shake him awake before he hurts himself one way or another~ Thank you!))

[Normally a spar between them would get Axel all hyped up. He might even express a bit of happiness and laugh because Roxas is doing a good job, but in this case all he can do is sneer and push harder, not a bit of positive emotion in his body.

Roxas manages to shove him back a bit, however, and when he does Axel twirls his chakrams and then leaps up to slam them into the ground, creating a large pillar of fire to follow the other at a rapid pace.]

[Yikes. Roxas knows that attack and he has to run to get out of its path. Axel definitely seems to have the upper hand in his own dream, and it's not giving Roxas much opportunity to attack.

From this distance though he does try shooting off a pillar of light at Axel.]

[Before the attack dies down Axel leaps backward to prepare his next move but that's quickly interrupted by the sudden beam of Light that comes towards him. Quickly he brings his chakram up to deflect it though the brightness does stun him for a short while, giving Roxas an opportunity to attack again if he wants.]

[Roxas doesn't really want to, but he does take the chance when he sees it, swiftly closing the distance and swinging his keyblade up, aiming to hit beneath Axel's raised chakrams.]

[Axel catches Roxas running towards him and with a back step and a slight arch he dodges. Maybe a little more stress like this should wake him up, but for now he's stuck like this, jumping back to disappear behind his wall of fire before he reappears behind Roxas, shooting fire balls at him.]

[Roxas whirls around and leaps back, on instinct hurling Oblivion back at Axel. They've done this all before, and Roxas won that fight. But, he doesn't want to defeat Axel now, just knock some sense into him.]

[The Keyblade strikes him right in the side and Axel staggers back a couple of feet before he shakes his head and regains his balance. There's a moment when he hesitates, almost as if he might not want to, but in the end his dream wins out and he's back on track, sliding across the debris towards Roxas while leaving a blazing trail of fire behind him.]

Axel!

[He sees that moment-- but Axel's already back in the fight. Oblivion is back in his hand and he steps forward, raising it to meet Axel's attack.]

[Once again their weapons meet and Axel presses down hard, feet planted firmly to the ground. Why won't you just stay down?]

[Roxas holds his ground for a short while, but then stumbles back under that pressure, giving Axel an opening.]

[There! He sees his opening and strikes, chakram slashing from the side to try and get Roxas there.]

[Roxas manages to avoid the worst of it, but the chakram still cuts into him and he cries out. Stumbling back further, he hurriedly calls up a light pillar just between them, trying to use it to push Axel back.]

[When his attack works even the slightest bit Axel widens his eyes as if hurt as well, because deep down he really doesn't want to do this, but he just can't stop. The initial shock distracts him, however, and when that pillar comes between them Axel leaps back and skids across the ground.]

Roxas...!

[Roxas looks hopeful at that, and keeps his distance, not attacking.]

Axel?

[Please say you're coming out of it.]

[Axel brings a hand to his head and tugs a bit at his hair, unresponsive. Something's not right here...]

[Roxas takes a moment to check his side--not too bad--and then cautiously moves closer. The dream hasn't ended yet..]

...are you okay now?

[He's still unresponsive, still tugging and trying to get his head straight, but Axel eventually looks up again, his eyes still glowing that unusual yellow shade. There's damage here and he can feel it, but maybe just another small push and he'll come out of this dream with Roxas intact.

For now, he growls and with a quick back step he thrusts his arms out to the side, his chakrams floating just a bit away from his fingertips, and allows a huge pillar of red hot fire to strike the ground beneath them. It creates a shock wave and a disturbance over the dream-scape, but most notably the molten bits of concrete--like lava--beneath them.]

[Roxas jerks back from the pillar and stumbles. He can feel the heat beneath him, scorching his shoes, nearly burning his feet. It wasn't enough. Axel hasn't come out of it yet.

Gritting his teeth and gripping Oblivion tighter, he rushes in to attack again once that pillar of flame has dissipated.]

[Once the pillar sinks back into the ground and leaves it still molten hot, Axel looks up in time to see Roxas charging towards him and throws a chakram at him, hoping to catch him off course or at least make him back away.

In the back of his mind he's thinking that he doesn't want to hurt Roxas, but that's also conflicting with the pressing desire to destroy him.]

Get away!

[The chakram does force Roxas to stop his charge as he brings his keyblade up to block it. But he shoves Oblivion forward against the chakram to knock it out of his way so he can press on.]

I'm not leaving 'til I knock some sense into you!

[His weapon goes flying out of the way before Axel holds his hand out to summon it back to him. He's getting tired and even more frustrated by the second and Roxas' words despite how much he'd like to tune out of them, start to seep into his mind and mess with dream, causing the flames to shrink just a bit.]

Shut up! [He yells again before he lights both chakrams on fire and hurls them at Roxas one after the other, juggling them so that each time they might hit they bounce right back.]

[Roxas only gets a little closer before that barrage of attacks begins, and he doesn't have the time to do anythng but block. But it's hard to keep his footing on the scorching ground beneath, and only a few hits in one of those attacks knocks him back.

He goes tumbling to the ground, crying out again as the heat hits him through his coat. Hurriedly he tries to get back to his feet.]

[...Why does seeing that get to him?

Axel knows that he has an opening, he can see it right there when Roxas struggles to get back on his feet, but when he raises his chakram up to slash and bring it down hard on Roxas' body he freezes and his arms start to shake. He might not know it, but the dream is starting to end here, the landscape rumbling and fading while Axel steps back and stares at Roxas as if perhaps...scared. He's not sure.]

[Roxas is just starting to push himself up on Oblivion when he sees Axel raise his arm to attack. He winces in anticipation--but the attack doesn't come. He glances around, noticing how things seem to be fading. Maybe it's finally ending now.

He returns his gaze to Axel's, holding it as he cautiously rises to his feet. He's not sure exactly what that look is in his friend's eyes, but Roxas hopes he's able to convey just how much he doesn't want to be on opposite sides.]

[When Roxas starts to get back up Axel tries to swing again only to lower his chakram to his side with a frustrated growl. Just having the kid look at him that way causes the scenery to fade even more until finally Axel opens his eyes, the yellow hue returned to its usual green and fire dwindled down into nothing.

With that dream over, he'll just slowly wake up now.]
