This is place is horrible! Terrible! I can't take it anymore! I've only been here a few days and I can't take it!

Where are all the anime and video games? I'm probably going to be missing all of my shows at home at this rate, and I won't be there to record them! I'm going to fall so behind...

Well, I've seen some cosplayers before, but this is the real thing!

Cosplayers?

Y'know, cosplayers. People who dress up as characters or something from a game?

But Pokemon cosplayers usually look more humans taking on the traits of the Pokemon they're trying to look like.

You mean people dress up as pokemon?

I didn't know they were called cosplayers, I thought they were trying to perform a play for them! I haven't seen a person trying to cosplay from a video game though!

Yup! Like I said, they're not completely accurate though.

[She nods.] I'm sure you'll see one, especially if you go to a festival or a convention. People dress up there all the time.

Hm...well, now that you think about it, there are quite a few people who dress up during festivals back home!

I'm not too sure about conventions though...

A whole lot of people in one spot...it makes the shopping really hard! I have to make a map and schedule just to make sure I see everything.

I guess that makes sense, it would be difficult to find where you want to go if there are a lot of people blocking your way! Hm...I bet it must get really hot too!

It does! But really, it's all worth it when you walk away at the end of the day with all your new purchases in your hands!

What kind of stuff do you usually buy at uh...conventions in your world anyway?

Figures, manga, other collectibles...things like that. I also like to look at the new stuff there - some of the new manga is really interesting!

Manga? What are mangas?

I'll seriously have to educate you people one day. [She rubs her forehead with her palm, thinking of where to even start.] Do you have picture books?

Mhmm! It's kind of like you're a teacher and I'm a student!

Okay. A manga is sorta like a picture book - the pictures are all divided up by panels, and there's dialogue. They look like speech bubbles.

But how is it different from a picture book?

Because they're longer and not made for kids. I mean, you don't usually see crossdressers in picture books, am I right?

I guess not!

But I wonder what kind of story you might see with a crossdresser...

They're usually really weird stories, but still entertaining.

I read a manga once about a girl who got mistaken as a boy in a host club. The main guy was kind of attracted to her, and wondered why. A hilarious turn of events later, and he found out that she was actually a girl! But since she was so comfortable dressing as a boy, she kept fooling the rest of the school about it, and only the host club knew.

Huh? Did the school find out eventually or did they manage to keep it a secret forever?

It's still ongoing, but they've been able to keep most people fooled so far! The only people who know are pretty good with keeping secrets.
