[076] - [Video]
[When Mitsuhide turns the feed on, he is sat on his desk. The SFC shows the inkwells and art tools resting on it, as well as the piece of parchment he is working on. When satisfied that the feed shows himself properly, Mitsuhide nods, and picks up his brush again.]
On the 26th, it is Tama's birthday... well. Gracia's birthday. That is the name the rest of you use for her, isn't it? I suppose Tama is something reserved only for my use, but I have now used it often enough that I forget, sometimes.
[He lowers a gaze and starts to work again.]
I say this so that her friends know, and so she can tell me how she might wish to celebrate. So, my girl? What is your wish?
[Mitsuhide grows silent then, but leaves the feed turned on for a few minutes until he puts his brush to the side again, examines his work and smiles softly. After waiting another few moments his gaze meets the SFC's camera again.]
You know, Vatheon, many of you are incredibly talented artists. I cannot say I often indulge in the more visual arts, but the amount of lovely paintings I have seen lately has made me want to.
[He holds the piece of parchment up for all to see. It's an ink-wash painting depicting a young lady sat on a box in the middle of a forest, a bunch of flowers in her hands; anyone who knows Gracia would recognise it as her.]
What do you think of my latest effort?

What do you think of my latest effort?
no subject
[ Gracia is obviously authority on the matter of box traveling, lmao. ]
May I decide what we'll eat? And may we have a few boxes with us, please? I'll even carry them up myself!
no subject
[And this is yet another one of those times where Mitsuhide finds himself thinking that regardless of her official age, at heart and in spirit she is very much still a child. The thought of her being married disturbs him greatly.]
[Surely she is not mature enough for such a thing.]
[Those thoughts don't reflect in his expression. He contineus to look fond, and amused.]
You may, on both counts.
no subject
Oh, but Father, that's where the beauty of the box lies! It's small, and it's nothing special, but it can carry amazing things! You can see all sorts of different places if you're inside a box!
[ Tadaoki fell inside one of her boxes once. Because he was cleaning it for her.
True story.LMAO. ]Then, I want foods that I've never had before! That way, my birthday can be an adventure for everyone!
no subject
Foods you've never had before? You have had quite a variety here, my girl...
[He begins to paint again.]
But I am sure I can find something suitable.
no subject
...but for now! Gracia smiles as she replies. ]
I have the utmost faith in Father's abilities to come up with a surprise!
no subject
I will see what I can do.
[Mitsuhide nods, and continues to work on his art. There are plenty of recipes he hasn't tried out; a few should be suitable.]
no subject
[ He is life, but boxes are also life. Also, she may or may not be their ancestor, and it may or may not be canon :|d ]
[ She's about to switch her SFC off, but her attention goes to the art, of course. ]
What are you painting now?
no subject
[He looks mildly embarassed, and then says, simply;]
Lord Motochika.
no subject
Ooh, I should have known! How romantic! Will you show him your work once you're finished? What part of him are you painting?
[ She asks the best questions. ]
no subject
[Mitsuhide flushes, and then shakes his head. No. It's an innocent question, surely, but he's curious... there's a good chance he will regret asking her, but still he says:]
I am painting all of him, but... why would you ask such a question, Tama?
no subject
Why? Oh, because Motochika has very strong body parts! Like his arms, his chest...and Father daydreamed about it once! Remember?
no subject
[Not just once, Tama, but Mitsuhide isn't going to tell you that. In fact, he looks rather mortified right now. Regret asking? Check.]
[He says nothing else because. Yep. 8'D]
no subject
Hm? Father? Are you still there? What's wrong?
no subject
[SOB. Okay, calm down, Mitsuhide.]
Do you ever draw, my girl?
no subject
[ She laughs sheepishly. ]
I can't remember if I was good or bad at it! I wonder if I inherited Father's skill?
no subject
[To put it mildly. Visual, written and musical arts play a large role in their home.]
Draw something, then show me.
no subject
[ She was counting on the artistic skills passed down from one Akechi to the other. If there was any semblance of that trait in her, Gracia begged forit to manifest now. She leaves the SFC for about ten to fifteen minutes, returning only when she's manages to find the suitable materials needed for her painting. She doesn't switch the feed back on, however. It's another thirty minutes before Gracia finally returns, thr SFC in Video this time, hiding her parchment behind her back. She looks rather embarrassed. ]
I'm finished, but please don't laugh at it! Your own painting of me inspired my painting, Father! [ Gracia shows him her work with a quick roll of the parchment, and all in all....it's not too bad. There's an obvious amount of effort put into it, judging from the way the strokes were neat and perhaps a little too stiff. There's even a hint of the uniqueness that defines the young lady; she attempted to draw Mitsuhide with his sword out, posing for the picture. He's ready for battle, but besides Mitsuhide taking up mpst of the parchment's space, Gracia also drew his enemies with box heads and messy pomytails, horns coming out of their heads, and some even decked out in flowery robes. Speaking of flowers, there's a whole bunch of them drawn all over her faher's figure. Though suffice to say, the flowers were the most attractive things there.
There is also a puppy next to his leg. Makes sense. ]
What do you think?
no subject
Let me see...
[Well, that's... interesting, at least.]
[Mitsuhide can't quite work out what his daughter's aim was, beyond a representation of her hero worship. The enemies with box heads? The sheer random nature of much of it is a reflection of her young nature, for sure. Not that he's going to tell her that. Instead he just says:]
You've put a lot of effort in, my girl.
[He smiles softly, a thought occuring to him.]
I have an idea. Do you wish to play a game with me?
no subject
A game? I love games! What shall we do, Father?
no subject
[A bow of the head.]
Come to me, and I shall show you what I have in mind.
Action
[ She switches the SFC off and finds him quick enough. ]
Father, I'm ready! Teach me how to play! [ SHe flashes him a bright smile. ]
