Day 65 - [Video]

[Although the feed starts off in audio-only for a couple seconds before he decides he's up for video, Roxas doesn't look any different.]

Hey, Axel, Xion.. Hayner... Well, everybody...

I know some people are freaking out, but I hope you guys aren't so bad off. 'cause, um, I kind of want your help figuring some stuff out.

((Powers? What powers? 100% vanilla human... complete with heart.))

[She's hardly objecting, and she returns it just as eagerly.]

He was just strung up on the ferris wheel--[She takes a deep breath]

I just can't understand it.

[Roxas is quiet for a moment, just holding her. He knows what he heard from Demyx, and he can understand why he attacked. But Demyx wouldn't hang anybody up on a ferris wheel...]

Me neither.

I just can't stop thinking about it. Why anyone would leave someone's body like that.

It's bad enough that he died.

[It's been bothering her ever since she found him. She's incredibly glad to be able to talk it out finally.]

[Slowly he pulls back so he can look at her again.]

Well, he might've deserved it--the dying part, I mean.

The rest... [He shakes his head.]

[Being completely in the dark about the circumstances surrounding the murder, she looks appropriately appalled that he would say so.]

Roxas, how could you say that?

[Okay, that look hurts. He responds, defensively.]

B-because he killed somebody.

He--

[She's obviously missing some details here. Details he knows.]

...What do you know about him, Roxas?

...I heard about it from Demyx.

He said this guy killed Zexion.

[Action]

[imaginarytides]

Why would he... [She trails off. She's been asking too many 'whys' no one can answer lately.

She pauses, but then something occurs to her.]

How does Demyx even know about it?

[Action]

[coolerthansora]

'cause Zexion told him before he died.

[Action]

[imaginarytides]

[...well that's just saddening. She looks a little guilty now]

I- I didn't know. I'm sorry.

[Action]

[coolerthansora]

It's okay. Demyx is the one who's really upset about it.

[He barely knows Zexion. Although he is feeling worse about it now.]

I guess Zexion should be coming back soon...

[Action]

People come back to life here?

[Action]

That's- what I've heard.

I mean, I guess it makes sense, since there're people here who should be dead...

I guess we'll be getting to the bottom of this sooner than we thought then...

[After all, if Zexion died and was coming back, there was no reason to think Cadence wouldn't either.

She takes a moment to think about that, before turning sheepish.]

I really can't thank you enough for talking this out with me, but you wanted to talk about your change, right?

I guess so... We should probably be careful.

[Because there's still the question of who strung Cadence up. And once he gets back, is he going to go after anyone else?

He shakes his head. He's been trying not to think about that until he has to. It's a little harder to shove away now that the worry is real, but he's going to try anyway.]

Anyway, it's nothing. I didn't really wanna talk, just- hang out.

[Of course, being careful won't stop her from figuring out just what really happened.]

It's nice to be able to hang out sometimes. I'm just glad we can now.

Didn't we hang out a lot in the Organization?

We did! We had a lot of missions together and we met Axel on the clock tower afterwards almost every day.

...eventually, though, things got so crazy that even meeting up for ice cream wasn't an option anymore.

Oh...

[It's hard to know quite what to say when he can't remember the circumstances she's talking about. He knows things were pretty shaky between him and Axel, though, just before he left.]

That must've sucked.

By that point I'd absorbed so many of Sora's memories I just...

[was convinced my own non-existence was the right thing. Ended up goading my best friend into killing me.]

It was kind of my fault.

I know you haven't told us everything, but...

None of it seems like your fault.

There are some things. Stuff that happened over the course of that year mostly.

I really believe none of it is anything out friendship can't overcome, though.

[At least she hopes. With their memory gone it's too early to say; he may not be saying it's not her fault when she does tell him what exactly happened.]
