Day 65 - [Video]

[Although the feed starts off in audio-only for a couple seconds before he decides he's up for video, Roxas doesn't look any different.]

Hey, Axel, Xion.. Hayner... Well, everybody...

I know some people are freaking out, but I hope you guys aren't so bad off. 'cause, um, I kind of want your help figuring some stuff out.

((Powers? What powers? 100% vanilla human... complete with heart.))

Okay, okay-- I'll only try it if it's one of those comas.

[Or special occasions maybe. Roxas gives chase, although Axel definitely has the height advantage in this fight. It's harder for Roxas to reach his face with the unwieldy pillow.]

[Axel runs and dodges as best he can and thankfully he really is tall enough to avoid being bonked in the head. And Roxas is just short enough for him to aim for his head instead. So there.]

You're so thoughtful.

[Roxas is not trying terribly hard to avoid being hit; the best defense is a good offense, and besides it's only a pillow. It is a little frustrating he can't return those bonks on the head, though, so when he gets the chance he runs back to the sofa and scrambles up onto the arm for the high ground.]

[Oh, man, going for higher ground now, are you? Axel follows Roxas over to the sofa anyway and hops up to try and smack him in the face again.]

[The tables have turned! It's harder to dodge standing in one place--not that he was really doing that anyway--and his perch is a little wobbly... But he blocks Axel's face-smack with an arm and tries to bring his own pillow down for a solid bop on the head.]

[Even though they're playing a stupid game, it's nice to be hanging out with Roxas again. He pulls his pillow back to try and swat Roxas on the side but that leaves him low on the defense for a moment and sure enough he's hit right on top of the noggin there.]

Hey!

[It might be stupid, but Roxas has never had the opportunity to pillow fight before. He grins as his blow connects.]

Gotcha!

[Yep, gonna go for another hit, leaving himself wide open in the process.]

[Just pretend that the chakrams in this icon are soft and fluffy pillows, ok.

Out of instinct he brings his arm up to block the second attack before he swings around with that same pillow to try and get the kid in the middle.]

[His balance on the arm of the couch was already precarious, but taking a pillow to the gut proves the end of it.

He has two options: 1) fall over backwards onto the couch where he will be vulnerable to tickling or 2) grab onto something to steady himself.

Hi, bestie. You are the closest thing to cling to.]

[Whoa, there, ok, grabbing onto me what is going on here.

Axel starts to lose his balance when Roxas topples forward and against him, but thankfully he manages to keep his footing and with the pillow tossed to the side he places his hands on the kid's shoulders to steady him.]

Heh. Way to go.

[Unfortunately Roxas dropped his pillow somewhere in the middle of that or he'd go for a final smack with Axel unarmed.

Instead he just straightens up, grinning lopsidedly at his friend.]

Um... I guess you win.

[Axel ruffles up Roxas' hair a bit before he hops down from the couch.]

What, I don't get a prize for that?

Prize?

[Roxas hops down from the couch, too, and runs a hand back through his hair. What could Axel possibly expect for a...]

You wanna go for ice cream?

I like this idea. [He laughs and then turns to stretch his arms up over his head for a bit.] C'mon, pick it up, short stuff. Let's go.

Right!

[Roxas grins and heads for the door to stuff his feet into his shoes, then looks inquisitively back at Axel. Are they hoofing it?]

[Seeing that you have a heart now and that he'd rather not taint it with Darkness, Axel will indeed hoof it with you, Roxas, instead of take the Corridors. It's safer that way, and we don't want you turning into a sad little bff so soon.

He opens up the door and holds it open for Roxas to get through first.]

Have you heard if Xion's been experiencing weird things?

[Good thing you remembered that, Axel, because Roxas isn't used to thinking about it. He just knows he can't create portals himself right now.

He wasn't really expecting Axel to hold the door, but okay, out he goes.]

Oh, she's- got these weird wings. But otherwise she seems.. okay. [Just upset about other things.]

Wings? [He tries to imagine it before he shrugs and then shuts the door behind them. He needs to get used to this area soon since he'll be moving in with the kid.] That's strange.

[After a few beats,] ...I haven't spoken with her in a while.

[Roxas isn't sure if Axel knows the way from here or not, but he can show him.]

You should, you know. She's our friend. I'm sure of it now.

[Of course he knows the way, but we're going to walk together.]

You're sure of it? How so?

[Shh, just let him pretend he's teaching you something.

He raises a hand to his chest.]

...I just feel it.

[You're too precious, Roxas.

Axel looks over and for a moment he's silent. Having his heart back--He wonders what that must feel like. It's not like he's forgotten completely, but having been without his heart for so long, he can only wonder what it would feel like in this body to have it back.]

Do you remember anything?

[Roxas is sure it would be for Axel like it is for him-- strange, but welcome, and not a bit like being who he used to be.

He shakes his head and lowers the hand.]

No. At least, not outright. But I feel like a part of me knows her.

[He would feel weird, really, and unsure on if he would want a heart or not, but in the end...maybe he'd accept it. It's hard to tell.]

Hm. [After a beat,] I wonder how long that'll last...you having a heart and all. [And when it ends, how will Roxas take it?]

Probably not long... That's why I wanted to see you guys, while I have it.
