[ It sounds like a normal evening in the household; there’s sounds of dinner cooking, that much is made obvious from the sounds coming through the SFC. It doesn’t take too long before the SFC picks up the sound of a conversation, however … ]

Really? It’s kinda true!

[dryly] Oh ha ha.

You could be our wife! [ She pauses for a moment, before her voice comes onto the SFC again, a little louder this time. ]

HEY! SHING! I FOUND US A WIFE!

Hmm? [ There’s a shuffling sound before Shing’s voice is heard again. ] ... well, I agree he does have the cooking skills for it!

[something clatters against the oven noisily] What?! Shut up! Both of you! I’ll kick both your asses, I ain’t nobody’s wife goddamnit!

Awwww, I’d love to see you try, honey, but then dinner will burn! [ She sounds like she’s taunting him, but she’s really just playing around. ]

So mean, Rin... is this why your previous husband left you? [ Oh, boy, and now that he’s picked up on the teasing he’s joining right in on that... ]

[Heeee might be growling a bit] I should just let you two brats starve!

[ Kohaku’s laughing a little. ] We love you, Rin! Really! You’re just so easy to tease ~

We only tease because we care, Rin! Don’t be so angry? Please? [There’s more shuffling, and then the sound of footsteps.]

Hng--! Let go--! ... damnit, fine! You win! Leggo so it doesn’t burn!

[ And with that and a bit of laughing, the SFC switches off. Now would be a good time for more teasing/trolling/letting them know that they were heard! ]

You've been staying with him?

Actually, he's at our place. Rin and I met over the network, but during the last weird thing that the city did, Shing ended up getting the abilities of someone from Rin's world, so he stayed with us for a week to kinda keep tabs on Shing and make sure his abilities didn't go haywire.

He made the mistake of letting us know that he likes to cook for people, though. So really, we're just giving him people to cook for.

[ She sounds a bit sheepish. ]

We try not to take advantage of it, really ... Rin is a wonderful friend, and the last thing either of us would ever want to do is make him feel bad.

[...Oh, now Kohaku sounds like she feels bad...

Haha. Probably a good thing, Yukari supposes. But she laughs a bit reassuringly.]

Well... that was nice of him to come over and take care of you guys, especially Shing. Just make sure he knows you appreciate it, okay?

Mm. I'll make sure he knows.

[ she smiles a little. ]

He's an amazing person, whether he realizes it himself or not! I know Shing and I both want to let him know how much we appreciate him!

Kohaku seems genuine about this, teasing aside. Heh.]

I was going to suggest you guys help him out with the cooking, but Shing says he doesn't like that much.

No, Rin seems to like being all of the positions in the kitchen at once while he's cooking. But it's okay. He's good at it.

[In truth she really doesn't know how long it takes to make miso... she isn't exactly a cooking expert. hrm.]

Rin says it's almost finished, so not too long. Everyone's getting a little antsy at the idea of food ...

[ there's a little bit of a sheepish laugh at the end of that sentence. ]

[Pffft. From the way she's talking, you'd think Rin had starved them!

But ahh, yeah Yukari laughs a bit too.]

I can tell. Don't eat too much though, or you'll start putting on weight.

[ ohhhh you've got her legit worried now, Yukari!! she's looking at herself to see if she might be looking heavier. ]

[ congrats, she'll be worried about her weight forever now. ]

But back at home, I was part of the archery club. I was a pretty active person, so I try to be the same way here-- and keep myself in check.

You do Archery? My brother's an archer!

[ .... aww, she looks a little sad now. she misses her brother. ]

[Awww, she notices that. But she's always wanted an archery buddy, so she can't help but ask.]

He ... has about a 70% hit rate with targets.

So he's really not bad. That was his hit rate before our journey, too, so he's probably a little better than that by now, what with all the practice he got having to fight monsters.

And then, his soma is a little different than the standard archery bow, so that might change things up a little too.

[She laughs a bit at her answer. Even when she speaks so objectively, she can tell Kohaku misses him a lot.

She won't interrupt her, but afterwards, she'll speak up.]

Wow. I didn't know you actually calculated it. I wonder what my own hit rate is...?

[She ponders idly, realizing she's not exactly sure what she means by soma either. Where she comes from, that is a restorative drink...]

Big Brother will claim that he's at 100%! Don't believe it.

[ yeah, she does love her brother. and misses him. a lot. ]

Hisui. He's pretty much taken care of me for as long as I could remember.

[ She's remembering her brother and giggling a little. ]

Hisui is really overprotective of me. It's funny to see it, especially around Shing.

[She laughs.]

I guess it'd kill him to know you're here all alone with him.

Although you aren't really alone per se.
