[ A man can be seen kneeling in the plaza, his clothes rumpled as though he had just been running. His expression is both pained and saddened, but he keeps his voice calm.

He needs to say this.]

Some of you may recognize me as Doctor Riffael Raffit. I am Riff Raffit, but...the man known as Riffael is the one who has been terrorizing people for a month.

I am sorry I could not do anything sooner...if I had-

[He pauses, eyes closing a moment.]

[Rin snarls, and it sounds very close to a very, very angry animal. Something about his expression changes in that moment, though, teeth bared in a dangerous looking smile, his eyes giving a dangerous glint.

Maybe not. But I bet strappin' you to a table and lettin' a few people cut in to you for hours might make 'em feel better...

You? Look...I don't know about any of the people that have actually been killed during this, but for me the idea of tormenting the person who killed me won't change anything. It'd just make me as bad as them. And even then, that's probably what the people running this experiment would like to see.

[She understands his reaction completely, but at the same time a degree of control is needed from him in particular and...well, frankly, HE isn't the one that was killed. He's not on the level of the victims no matter how much he's able to sympathize with them.

There's an unspoken plea to him to just step away and let the adults handle this.]

[Rin's mouth works, trying to form words amidst the shock of realizing just how far he was slipping. It scared him, to know that there was something that could push him that far, make him lose so much of his humanity in just an instant.

He swallows hard, hands shaking and running through his hair as the flames finally fade and vanish completely.]
