Accidental Video

*There's a blur on the screen as it seems the SFC is moved from one pair of hands to another. When the image finally settles, it is tilted at an angle. Most of the image appears to be a boring bedside table with a jug of water on, and the frame of a boring bed, similar to what might be seen in a hospital. A smaller section of the screen shows half of someone's pale face, the eyes covered with bandages. The only thing that might identify this person are some flicks of brown hair, sitting above a shoulder in a hospital gown. The SFC is moved again, showing this unhappy figure in a bed, before the feed flickers out*

[Aya walks behind her, close enough to help if she falls, but giving her enough space. It's a good accomplishment, and a small step in building up her self esteem.]

You did. [He takes out his keys and unlocks the door.] This may be a bit more challenging. [Aya links his hand with hers as he steps inside.] Do you remember where things are from before?

*Selphie turns and offers a smile to Aya, clearly pleased that he has recognised the good work she's done thus far. Any more than that was scary though, so she was glad to feel Aya's hand with hers*

Uhm... I think so?

*Only, she seems to have forgotten the small step that leads into the house, and manages to trip quite impressively*

[She sure did. Aya reacts quickly and wraps an arm around her middle, catching Selphie before she could fall to the floor.]

There's a step there... [He helps her stand upright again.] There aren't anymore, though.

*There's a moment where she takes a deep breath - Selphie's silent and she shakes, almost as though she's about to burst into tears. This first trip is likely the start of many difficulties. But instead, she exhales slowly and stands upright*

Oh..okay. Where do I go now...? Straight ahead, just a little, right?

[He couldn't coddle her. Her train of thought is right, this may be the first of many difficulties, but Aya's sure she'll get through them.]

Yes, the wall curves to the right, and there's a door coming soon.

*Again, Selphie just wants to drop in the middle of the floor and weep. This whole thing is just horrifying. But she swallows her pride and keeps going, arms stretched out ahead of her*

O-okay... So..where are we going..?

[formerabyssinian]

There's an empty room there. It's not getting any use, so you can stay there. It has its own bathroom, too. [He's still following her, close by just in case.]

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie manages to keep herself going until her hand hits said door, fingers tentatively moving to the door handle. But she turns around, nothing much to convey her fear while her eyes are covered, other than the strain in her voice*

You're not...You're not just going to leave me here...?

[formerabyssinian]

[Aya comes closer, placing a hand onto her shoulder gently.] Never. My room is across the hall. About five steps. You can come in anytime.

[booyaka_boom]

*About five steps, he said, and Selphie sighs as she appreciates his ways of helping her out. That hand on her shoulder has made her feel more steady too*

Thanks... And, thank you for everything. You have no idea how much better I feel... I really, really appreciate you looking after me...

*They're already standing pretty close, but Selphie shuffles forward, standing that little bit closer. She leans up, fully intending on giving Aya a small kiss on the cheek by way of thanks. But, given that she can't see, Selphie misjudges the distance, and her kiss instead lands softly on the corner of his lips*

[As Aya was about to respond, Selphie shuffled forward, and that distracts him from his current thoughts. What she's doing befuddles him, but then he thought she was going in for a hug. That turns out to not be the case.]

[The kiss to the side of. Is lips makes Aya flush pretty deeply, mostly because of how accidental her projection is, and also due to not expecting such an action. He smiles as he presses his forehead against hers.]

You're very welcome. [Their noses touch a little as well.]

*Selphie freezes when she realises her mistake, her shoulders tensing. But then, Aya hadn't said anything to suggest that he was horrified or that he wanted her straight out of his house.

Instead, he moves closer, and that makes her blush that little bit more obvious, though she's smiling too, if a little tentative. She's not really sure what to say now...*

[There isn't much to say, so Aya opens the door for her after pulling away. The only thing saving them both from embarrassment is their mutual feelings for each other. He takes her hand and guided her inside.]

There's a bed just about six steps ahead, and from there, the bathroom is directly to the right of it. [There are other things like nightstands, but it would be best to have her find that out in a bit]

[booyaka_boom]

*The more she walks, the more Selphie is trying to make normal steps, proving that she is more than capable to managing. Her knee hits the bed and she nods, at least now knowing that's where it is*

Ow. Okay. I guess I'll just have to get used to knowing where stuff is by bumping into it all the time...

*She makes an awkward laugh at this - half amused, half terrified*

It'll be more or less like that...

I'll need to get you something to wear for tonight. Do you think you'll be okay by yourself for a bit?

[booyaka_boom]

Huh? Oh, right. Sure.. I'll be fine!

*She turns her head slightly towards him and smiles with a nod. Selphie shuffles closer to the bed and drops down on it*

See? Perfectly safe!

[formerabyssinian]

[Aya chuckles softly.] I'll be right back, then. [He leaves the room only to enter his own, wanting to find some sleepwear for Selphie. He could easily just go next door for some, but he'll do that a bit later, once Selphie is asleep. Or maybe he'll ask Rinoa to bring some over.]

[Either way, she'll have something to wear that isn't her bloodied and tattered dress.]

[He's back after a few moments, with a button down shirt and sweat pants.]

*Selphie just sits on the edge of the bed while he's gone, swinging her legs gently, thinking far too hard about what she's going to do with herself without her sigh. So it's a relief when he returns, slightly shifting towards where she's guesing he's standing*

Find something?

[formerabyssinian]

Yes, something to sleep in. [He places the garments in front of her, gently taking one hand and placing it atop the clothes.] They should be able to fit. It's just a shirt and sweatpants.

[booyaka_boom]

*She raises a brow, just visible above her bandage. As her hand moves across the material, and eventually takes hold of the clothes, Selphie looks quite amused*

I guess I just gotta trust that you're not dressing me up in really weird colours.

[formerabyssinian]

As if I would have weird colors. [Aya smirks and makes an amused noise.]

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie laughs and places the clothes on her knee, shaking her head*

Yeah, that's a good point! Thanks again, Aya. I've been such a nuisance today!

You haven't been, so don't worry. I'll let you get dressed. Just let me know when you're done.

*Selphie just nods and, when he leaves, begins to get herself dressed. It takes much longer than usual, because she has to tug and pull at her dress. And then she has to feel around the neckline and the waist band of the clothes because she doesn't want to wind up with them on back to front. The whole thing was quite an ordeal. Eventually, Selphie shuffles out of the room, the legs of the pants and the sleeves of her shirts too long - dripping off the ends of her hands, and she nearly trips on the ends of the legs*

Aya? *She calls out in the corridor, no idea where he is* Can you help me with these?

[Aya is in the kitchen, making some tea and sandwiches for them when he hears Selphie call out for him. He puts down the butter knife and goes to find her. The sight he discovers is amusing enough to make him chuckle.]

At least they aren't too small. [He steps forward and proceeds to roll up her sleeves first, then pants legs. There isn't much finesse to how he does it, though.] How is that?
