Video; First Snow
[Today on the network was a blonde looking a little distracted away from the feed. She was holding the SFC, so it was clear either she had accidentally turned on the device, or it was on purpose. A beat before she turned her attention to look directly at it.]
I arrived here a few days ago and have already caught up with what is happening from those staying in the Laboratory up North. My name is Celes Chere. I’m a formal general of the Empire and a member of the Returners. I have combat skills and I can heal. If anyone would like for assistance, while the city is broken, please let me know.
You may find me in the Lab or by the wreckage of this lighthouse.
[Pausing to place a thumb over the feed. Turning the device around before removing her thumb to show the bits of the lighthouse. She didn't want to make people sick!]
I have read everything in the pamphlet and I am wearing the blue tunic as the note requested. If there is anything else, then please fill me in.
[End of transmission.]

He must be a special kind of...something.
[She doesn't even...]
Never.
[Not even ashamed to say that. Most of the guys she has hung around knew better than to say as much.]
no subject
Or Starrk's chest. Well, there was that one time where he sort of stuck his fingers in Ulquiorra's, but that was for a reason!]
You'd like him.
[And that gets something mixed between a genuine laugh and a scoff.]
Shit, kitten. Either you need to get out more or the men you hang around with are as straight as a fuckin' circle. You really ain't bad on the eyes--both physically and as far as fightin' goes from what I can tell.
no subject
[She might just take his word for it for now.
Oh and there is that nickname. And there is also a topic she really shouldn't discuss.]
They know better than to use flattery on me.
[Because she swindled the last dude who tried hitting on her. And there is Locke...]
Love or physical attraction isn't really my forte.
[Let's find a new topic!]
Where have you been staying with the barrier being broken? [Does he even like water?]
no subject
[And then he's glancing past Celes at the mention of a place of residence.]
...Around. [He's not a fan of drowning >: but baths are a nice thing.] They had some bullshit going on that I had to go in for, but after that I got the hell outta that village. [Which he should
probably catch her up on a little bit, so he's tugging down a corner of his pants to show the touched up mark on his hip.]
Y'might wanna get yours looked at 'fore anything else happens.
no subject
Something you had to go in for?
[Yes, she would appreciate being told-
She didn't visibly react, but for a moment she thought he was doing something else. Some warning would be nice, Mr. Kitty.
Now that was a different mark. She will study it the best she can from where she was before touching her own between collar bone and neck.]
A lot has changed.
no subject
[Hey, at least he's not stripping down! He only saves that for when he's feeling comfortable.]
...Alpha's gone, too. That nutjob of a doctor that was here before.
no subject
And don't get comfortable around her please. As nice of a physique he seems to have, she is perfectly fine not seeing it all.]
He wasn't that bad. He seemed at least some what apologetic towards his actions, but he went missing my second visit here. It was the winter after we both have vanished. Seems we left about the same time.
[And she had spent a little more than a month without him. And now he has. Maybe the Coral wanted someone to try to keep him in line.]
no subject
Funny how shit like that works out, huh?
[He mulls over that bit of information in his head. Either there's some weird thing going on with the coral and who it drags in, or it's some crappy example of fate/coincidence.]
Anyone piss you off when I disappeared the first time?
no subject
She would rather not think of any sort fate connection with him. That was just weird. She has enjoyed their little exchanges and helping him out with the cat situation in the past, but that was it.
And people shape their own fates!]
No one I couldn't handle myself.
[She probably wouldn't tell him if she couldn't handle it either.]
What have you been up to?
no subject
[At least it was good to know she could take care of herself if something ever did crop up.]
Honestly? Not a damn thing. I beat the shit outta some brat awhile back but I haven't seen him since.
no subject
Celes starts heading along the water. Are you coming Mr. Kitty?]
You shouldn't pick on kids. [Sounds like he didn't have much to keep him busy.]
What led to the barrier breaking?
no subject
[Nevermind the fact that he's tried to kill a teenager in his world multiple times... shh.
He's not going into the water, but he's going to try matching her footsteps on the damp sections of sand.]
I guess the coral just ended up getting too weak to the point where it just cracked open.
no subject
[This is why you shouldn't hang with the justice aligned sort, Feeties.
And the coral getting weak and just cracking? That's concerning. Very concerning.]
Do curses still work?
no subject
[And it's the only one he kept!]
Dunno. I don't think we've had once since it went tits up--hell, I think the last one we had skipped over me entirely.
no subject
Well there were a lot of things about him that didn't make a whole lot of sense. Not even going to try to reason with it.]
It suits you.
[Really, in a strange way, it does.]
Lucky you. [And that was concerning as well.]
What's being done about the barrier?
no subject
[Genuinely curious about that--he hasn't really had anyone say that to him before.
And then he has to think a bit.]
...Apparently they're gonna try fixing the coral or some shit. Lighthouse went up 'round the time the meeting started, but I didn't stick around for very long t'ask around.
no subject
It adds to your charm.
[The best she can sum it up.
Looks like she will have to check for information herself.]
I'll find out later if anything important was missed.
[Maybe they should have brought yarn to the meeting to give him something to do as he listened.]
Anything else?
no subject
Charm, huh? Shit, you really must've missed me if you're calling it that.
[Then his hand goes to the SFC in his pocket. He doesn't take it out, but he's acknowledging that it's there.]
...Yeah. Pay attention to the things you talk about when you got the SFC on you. I have mine off right now, but... Y'never know when the crackpots in charge are listening.
[That's one thing he remembers the Station Master telling him at least.]
You got a place to stay yet, or you just bumming around?
no subject
[Teasing.
Pausing to fish out her SFC to turn it off. Better?]
I had thought they used the fairies for monitoring.
[It was weird not hearing on hovering by.]
I have been staying with the locals at the lab. [Which isn't conversationally stimulating, but it was pretty much what she was used to in the past.]
no subject
That's just what I was told. Apparently the fairies went up too, but I dunno when.
[At least they wouldn't be a pest with that bright light when he'd try sleeping.]
Y'sure that's a good idea?
no subject
Worried about me? I don't think they would harm anyone who is here to help out their Lamufao.
no subject
[Nope, he's not going to finish that. He's just going to snarl to himself and kick a bit of sand up.]
Tch. I still don't trust 'em.
no subject
And wait until it's known they are all prisoners of some sort.]I appreciate it, but I'll be fine. If it bothers you that much, you can stay too.
[There were lots of rooms.]
no subject
[But he might just kind of.
Sneak around it to check up on her. He's not too fond of the thought of losing the one person he actually respected again.]
no subject
[She's a light sleeper. Good job slinking around without her noticing.]
I'll be fine. I wasn't made a General for nothing.
