[Now that the curse is over, Anya has some important questions that actually don't involve sex or money. Well, mostly.]

So, I got that the coral has a hold on us thanks to these cultist tattoos. I didn't realize it could make us all act loony enough to think we were comic book supervillains--or superheroes--but all right, they can use it to mess with our heads.

How did the whole... city-changing part work? Was that a perception thing, did we all just think we were robbing banks? Or did something physically change into real sacks of money for that week? ... Not that I was robbing banks, and if I was, I couldn't be held accountable for my actions.

I know this last curse was pretty harmless because no one ever really dies in comic books... or sometimes in real life... But I'd like to know just how much reality-bending power this thing has.

It isn't possible to be friends with a country. The relationship can only ever be one-sided, and that's generally called patriotism or nationalism. At best there might be dirt-kissing, but it isn't as though the dirt is kissing you back.
