... It's waxing crescent again.

[That's what he mutters after a while. The camera's facing what looks to be the horizon over the island and floating not too low in the sky is the moon, just a small, sharp sliver of bright white.

For those who recognize the voice, it's undoubtedly Saix speaking, but there's something different about it all the same. It sounds... almost mesmerized, as if he's not quite all there. That's because whoever's been stuck inside of this body can't quite control it yet and thanks to the moon's power, far away or as different as it is from the one back home, Axel can barely focus his mind and body on anything else.

Originally he had intended for this to be a normal video. He wanted to address the rest of the dome the way he used to when he was in his regular body. Maybe if he tossed out a joke or two he would feels better... but he finds that he can't. Not like this.

Something tugs at his chest and off to the side Axel brings a hand to his face, covering his eyes. He doesn't like this... feeling so out of power. After a moment, he speaks up again, his voice slightly grating.]

Someone tell me... How do you know if you have a heart?

And is it worth all the trouble it gives?

[Roxas doesn't bother to reply to that, but just shuts off the SFC and portals out to the island to find his friend.]

...hey.

[When Roxas arrives Axel's still staring up at the sky and by now the moon has aligned itself higher for better viewing. He's always thought the sky was pretty to look at anyway, and that's including the night, but right now it's different. He feels like he can't look away.

It takes him a moment, but he does eventually respond, shaking his head and looking over his shoulder.]

Ah- Hey.

[Roxas settles down to join him, looking up at the sky, too. It's a pastime he's always enjoyed, albeit more during sunset, but he's never found it as mesmerizing as Axel seems to right now.]

What's it feel like?

What d'you mean?

[he raises a brow.]

The moon. You can kinda feel it, right?

[At that he glances back up at the moon above and sighs.]

Yeah, I can. ... It's weird, like something pulling me from the inside. I'm not sure I really like it.

Something pulling you...

[Roxas thinks about that, trying to imagine it. He doesn't think he's ever felt anything quite like that.]

Is that- ... all you feel?

[He thinks about it... then nods.]

I don't think I can feel much of anything else.

It's... weird.

It's how we all started, right?

It is... but even when I first became a Nobody, I can't remember feeling this weird.

[Axel shuts his eyes and rubs his neck. Hm, this is all too complicated for him right now.]

I still know that something's wrong with this body. I just wish I knew what exactly it was.

So it's not just- feeling empty then.

[He doesn't feel empty, but he doesn't feel emotions? Is there something in between?]

When I was in Vanitas's body... That felt really weird. Kind of- heavy. [He puts a hand to his chest, trying to remember exactly how it felt so he can describe it.] Like something was smothering me. It was hard to feel anything good, but- I could get angry really easy.

[Axel listens intently, watching Roxas out of the corner of his eyes. He doesn't feel entirely comfortable yet being close to him while in this body, but at least he has things fairly under control for now...]

That sounds about accurate.

[he mutters.]

I feel like... there's only so much I can do. Like something else is pulling me in another direction.

[With a shake of his head,]

It's hard to think that this is what Saix has to go through too.

Mm.

[He felt bad that Vanitas had to go through that. If it's something like that for Saix, too...]

...do you wanna be friends again?

[The question surprises Axel a bit. Looking away, he thinks about it then eventually nods with a thoughtful hum.]

... He never really stopped being my friend.

[It just didn't feel like they were once they became Nobodies.]

But we could be better.

You haven't been- acting much like friends.

[Admittedly he and Axel had their own trying-to-kill-each-other fight, but that wasn't because either of them wanted to.]

But, if he let you, I think it'd help.

I know we haven't.

[He sighs, frustrated.]

I just don't think he wants anything to do with me anymore.

He was getting all- nostalgic on me, when he was pretending to be you? Talking about stuff- Lea used to do.

[His eyes widen a little at that.]

What?

Well- not a lot. But he found those frisbees, and- he was saying how Lea used to set stuff on fire accidentally.

[He'd laugh if he really could right now, so he just... tries to grin instead. Sorry if it looks very creepy, Roxas.]

Heh. Well, isn't that cute.

[It does look kind of creepy, but he's distracted by the part where you're calling your ex-bestie cute.]

It was mostly just weird.

Weird? How so?

'cause he was trying to act like you.

Oh. You mean before you guys showed up at his house to find me?

[... Yeah that must have been weird. Axel sighs.]

He probably wasn't very good at it.
