[Is this how you call just one person?

...no, it sure isn't. Lloyd hasn't exactly nailed the finer details of using his SFC yet.]

Hey, uh, Yukari?

[So much awkward in just two words. He still remembers exactly what he did when he was cursed, though, and oh man, he just wants to crawl into a hole. Turning a nice shade of red, he rubs the back of his neck.]

Can we... talk? About, you know, when I was a knight and I asked you to try that glass shoe on?

[Okay. There. He's been putting it off for so long, but now he's finally made the call. Now if he can just get his mind off it while he's waiting...

Oh, hey, he can call Zelos. The blush fades in favor of a very shameless grin.

Zelos! How are you doing? You're not still a unicorn, are you?

[Funny, since she uses her mana to control the wind. So for her, it'd be like...both, in a way.]

A mana-powered cargo ship... [Because that's what "Elemental Cargo" sounds like to her.] ...on Tethe'alla?

[The way she says it, she's never heard of the place. But she does catch when Lloyd mentions it is not his world.]

So...you've been to worlds other than this one that aren't your own.

["This one" meaning Vatheon. Because aside from this city, and her home in Japan, she certainly doesn't remember having many adventures anywhere else.

Maybe study abroad is something she should consider...]

[Travel the world, and take your teacher with you, huh? Yeah, probably best not to ask Lloyd's opinion on that. He's been doing that ever since he left his home town, and he really, really wishes he could take the "study" part out.]

Yeah. Tethe'alla's connected to my world, though. They used to be one world before they got split in two. I don't think Vatheon's connected like that, or if it is, it's something different. Like, maybe there's gateways, but it's not part of the same whole - if that makes sense.

[It actually sounds pretty fascinating. Before she’d come here, perhaps she wouldn’t even have believed it, but the idea of two halves of a whole, two sides of a coin—

To think that a world like that existed is almost surreal. She places a hand on her chin, and she can’t even imagine what it’d be like.]

I guess it does, as much as anything else in Vatheon. But I think if there were anything like gateways here, someone would’ve found ’em by now. A lot of people have been eager to get outta here...

[Lloyd smiles, lifting a finger confidently.]

That's where I think they're wrong. I'm pretty certain there are gateways here. The way I got here was through the Otherworldly Gate, the Gate between my two worlds. Something went wrong. I dunno if it was that coral or something else, but when I went through the Gate, it brought me here instead. But if a gate can open here once, who says it can't open again? Any place you have a way in has to have a way out.

Back home, the Otherworldly Gate only opened during the full moon. All the other time, no one could see it. Maybe it's like that here, too. You just have to be in the right spot at the right time. If no one's found it, maybe it's because they weren't there when it opened - or maybe they were, and they accidentally went in and went home before they could tell anyone else.

[Nope, no matter what his friends told him, no one could disabuse him of the notion that there might still be a way to go home.]

...Heh.

[If nothing else, Lloyd has her attention. She is watching him closely as he speaks, observing his mannerisms and how confident he is; and at the same time she's listening. Tilting her head, seeming a bit surprised.]

I gotta say, you've thought about this more than I gave you credit for. And with how weird the city is, I can't rule the possibility out completely... [She has been here an awful long time already, however, and she still thinks she'd have noticed—] But it's just hard to tell, when we have no idea what kind of conditions need to be met.

[She pauses for breath, shrugging. It isn't as if the locals know anything either, so asking them has always been out of the question...nor has she seen that head priestess in a while. Not that she'd been very forthcoming with answers, either, but she did have an air of authority around the city, so it was almost like she knew what was going on.]

...At the very least, though, you aren't the only one who remembers traveling through a "gate" of sorts, so—maybe it's something to think about after all.

[What could cause a gate way to open though?

What had caused the Abyss of Time to open—?]

I've been here for over a month, so yeah, I've had plenty of time to think about it.

[He isn't aware of how long she's been in this world.

I've even thought that maybe the gates are like doors that someone's shut and locked. Maybe we need the right key to find them and get them to open back up. My point is that we can't be discouraged by the fact that no one's found a way back home. They're still out there.

[He perks up.]

If other people have come through gates, too, that only proves my point! So don't give up, Yukari. Just keep looking. And in the mean time, we can still make friends and try to have fun in this world.

[......Yukari isn't ready to leave, though. Maybe that's the bottom line here, behind her expression, her reactions, everything she says. She isn't ready...

And truthfully, she wonders when she'll ever be. She misses home. A lot. But there's someone she'd missed a whole lot more.]

I never did plan on giving up. [a chuckle, as if that's a preposterous idea] And I'm not discouraged. I'm just...not really in a hurry, I guess.

[Make friends. Have fun. She probably reacts the strongest to that.]

There are times when I hate this place, and there are times when I love it. But either way...I feel like I still have a reason to be here. A reason to stay...

I think everybody has one, so...maybe you'll find yours, too.

[He's not sure what reason he might find, but it's nice to think that his being here is for more than just the whim of some coral or whatever brought him here.]

Maybe you're right. I'm not going to give up looking for a way back home, but if staying here helps someone, I won't mind so much.

So, you're going to stay for a while... I'll get to see you around more, then, right?

[Help someone. That's another good point, too; where would this city be without them? She nods, because if she can adjust to living here, she feels like anyone should be able to.

Especially a guy who seems as relaxed and able to adapt as Lloyd.]

Yeah. I guess you will. Hopefully without the Coral's...influences.

[They definitely don't need any more Curses making things awkward for them again.]

Heh. Yeah.

[He's rubbing the back of his neck, still a little bit sheepish about the whole thing with the magical slipper. He can definitely agree with that hope wholeheartedly.

...not that Vatheon will ever grant that wish~]

[Pfffft. Yeah, she's a bit awkward about it as well; though she still manages a brief laugh somehow, soft and forced though it may be. When she sees him shut off the feed, she does, too, the both of them going about their merry ways for now.

Well, she thinks, tucking the SFC back into her pocket; that could have been a lot worse...]
