[A new connection appears on the network. Someone seems to be fumbling with the controls of their communicator and it takes them a few minutes to realize that it's on... and recording.]

Is... is anyone there? Can anyone tell just what exactly this place is? And why I appear to be in a dome underwater? I need to get back to the surface. Fast. [The young male voice coughs hard.] Ugh. I'm soaked to the bone.

[Another pause.]

...And has anyone seen a longsword with a blue-and-green handle? A large shield, too.

[Despite the fact that they are from two different timelines, Link still feels a connection with the woman, though it is not quite as strong.

Not much later, he returns, carrying his assortment of soaked upper clothes. If it wasn't for the Fireshielf Earrings and the fact that is hair is more brown than blonde, he would nearly be indistinguishable from the Link of her time.]

What exactly is this tunic made up? It seems to repel water almost magically.

[When Link walks out, there's a man with long red hair waiting with Zelda. Gee, he's standing awfully close to her...]

Hey! You must be Link.

[He grins charmingly and holds out a hand. Lucky you, man. He's not usually this friendly.]

It is a Zora tunic, created by an amphibious race of people. It will allow you to breathe underwater.

[Panic rises up in her again briefly when Zelos greets Link. What had she been thinking? Was this really necessary? She could just - no. She couldn't. If this Link decided to treat her like his Zelda, she wouldn't be able to say no. They had just met and already she wants to grab on and hold him and apologize for sending him away, to promise she'll never do it again.

This is for the best.]

This is Zelos, Link.

[...Why is he reminded of Groose all of a sudden? At least this man didn't have that ridiculous hairstyle. He seems to be well aquainted with Zelda already and for the briefest of moments a frown flickers over his features, but it quickly passes. This Zelda isn't his childhood friend, despite their similarities. Still... it's make him rather uncomfortable.

Link returns the handshake- perhaps with just a touch more force than necessary- with a friendly smile.]

I'm afraid I'm not the same Link that Zelda might have told you about.

[Zelos can tell just by looking at Link that he's going to have to play fake boyfriend with this, granted it's not hard to get a read on someone with such an open face, but there's no way Zelda can handle this guy without some kind of buffer when he's well aware she's already head over heels for some other version of the hero, but this one's obviously got some pretty strong feelings of his own, though how he could have developed those in the span he's been here is beyond Zelos and he'll have to ask Zelda for a more in depth explanation later. For now, he'll play the part, to questions asked.

The Chosen adopts a relaxed posture, slipping his arm around Zelda's waist with a familiar ease.]

Oh? There's more than one? Don't tell me you're a replica too.

[This Ganon really liked to play emotional warfare if that's the case.]

What? Oh, goddesses, no! This Link is the original bearer of the Master Sword, I believe. He comes from the past. I am present there as well. Or rather... a woman who I resemble and share a name with is present.

[Zelda clears her throat softly.]

This is not too surprising, considering that the name "Zelda" is traditional for the royal family. It may even be to honor the Zelda that you know, Link.

[Link's shoulders tense up at the red-haired man's actions, but he forces the muscles to relax. This Zelda can be with whomever she pleases, it does not concern him. But it is still like a glass shard is being driven into his heart and he looks away, biting his lip.

He usually isn't one for being homesick. Even having Groose here would help with the situation.]

That's probably true. That probably means your Link is named after me, too. [He grins a sheepish smile.] I don't feel like an ancient hero of lore. I just feel like knight who happened to have a talking sword for a companion.

[Eyebrow raised at 'talking sword', Zelos shrugs a bit, though his hand doesn't stray from its resting place on Zelda's hip.]

That's something every world's got, I guess. I can't even count the number of people I know named after ancient kings or heroes of old. I know at least three women back home with the first name being some variation of Martel, not to mention several Mithoses.

[He turns his head to look at Zelda, smiling fondly.] The Zelda he knows could be related to you, right? Some distant ancestor or something?

I... yes. That's likely.

[She glances away. It seems like so much more than that, but it's rather conceited of her to think so, isn't it? That she shares even a soul with this other Zelda, that it hadn't been her imagination that she knew she could trust Link from the moment she laid eyes on him almost eight years ago. To think there was some sort of connection there was selfish, and dwelling on it might hurt this Link.]

[Distant ancestor, huh? So that could mean that either his Zelda ends up with ~~Groose~~ another man or... Wait. A blush creeps up unto his face at the thought. He isn't ready for that sort of thing. Really. Oh goddess. Better stop this train of thought before it gets too far.]

So, uh... have either of you seen the Master Sword around? Or Fi, for that matter?

Swords and things sometimes show up in a special shop called the Nostalgia Nook, but as for the other thing I have no idea.

[He shifts his weight, watching Link with a little frown as would be expected from the protective boyfriend. This kid's got it kind of bad, from what he can tell. No wonder Zelda needed him.]

The Master Sword is not present in Vatheon.

[Zelda seems much more comfortable now that she's simply stating facts.]

Zelos is correct about the Nostalgia Nook, though. There are a number of items from Hyrule, you should be able to get a regular sword and a Hylian shield - as well as some replacement clothing if you prefer to wear a green tunic.

I'll take a look around the place when I have some free time. For now I should try to find someplace to live. Is there an inn here, or something similar?

[Link reaches into a pocket and pulls out a rather ornate looking wallet with a relieved smile... that disappears when he finds a sum total of zero rupees inside.]

...Not that I can afford anything at the moment.

Oh, don't worry about that. Everything's free. You just gotta show them your mark. [Zelos motions to the tattoo surrounding the crystal mounted on his chest.] You should have one on you somewhere, we all get it when we're tugged here.

Show that to any shopkeeper in the city and they'll hand over whatever you need, from snacks to a place to live.
