| [ Have a very concerned, very uncomfortable Link. Here he stands, outside of his house holding what looks like many envelopes and folded papers (some shaped like airplanes). ]
So, um...
[ A sheepish smile forms on his face as he holds an armful of papers. It's clear that he has been quite busy writing on them and... Tossing them in the open window above. ]
She got on me all the time for being so lazy, but it seems the shoe's on the other foot this time. This is, what, twice now?
[ He tosses an envelope through the window. ]
I've written twenty letters hoping they would at least make noise-- Worked... For me all the time, hah.
[ He sighs, a concerned moan following. ]
I'm not sure how else to wake her... I can't just sneak in her room... |

| [ The SFC flickers on to introduce a rather worn-out, worn-down looking young man. Well, more worrisome than tired. It's clear when he clears his throat that he's been pulled here at a very bad time, and it shows in the way his shoulders sink and his eyes cast shadows to the device. Confused and unaware of how to properly use it, the young man's eyebrows furrow as he fusses with the device. ]
[ He grunts-- Not so much out of frustration but from feeling so... Rushed. He has no idea where he is, and this change of location has taken him for a ride. ]
--!
[ The sound of static and projection of his mirror image, followed by a small light, signifies that this might be a good way of finding out what to do. Link gasps, and a little gleam of hope flickers in his still-tired eyes. ]
Hello?
[ His eyebrows furrow again and his lips tighten into a line. ]
My name is Link. To anyone who may hear this, I am lost and in need of guidance. [ He sighs. ]
... I have lost my way in helping a very close friend. Her name is Zelda. She is... [ Sort of stuck somewhere and it's a really long story that he'd rather not get into. Too many words in a drawn-out explanation. ]
I have to go back! Could someone please help?
[ Link's expression dies down, wearing a somber expression as his face relaxes. But he looks like a kicked puppy, honestly. ]
Please.
[ He turns the device around a few times, attempting to find the stop button. There's a long moment of him just messing with the device until it finally flicks off. ] |
|
| ( Ok, Link, go ahead! Call your Loftwing! )[Link jerks and falls right out of the bed, his back hitting the ground with a loud thump. Ouch. That fall is still just as terrifying as he remembered it... His device buzzes on his bedside table, but he tries to ignore it, choosing instead to focus on calming his rapidly beating heart.] |
|
| [Link coughs as a thick, black smoke billows around him. A shrill, shrieking sound is near constant in the background. Is that a smoke alarm? Or something similar? The young hero looks confused and perhaps just a bit freaked out.]
I'm sorry if I woke anyone up. I tried to use the... oven and...
[Oh, he hopes this doesn't effect the rest of the apartment. For those living in Pendilium Apartments, Link is very, very sorry.]
I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to do this, right?
[ZELDA IT CAUGHT FIRE HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DOOOOOOOO] |
|
| So... I have family now. Sort of.
[It's... an new feeling, to say the least. His parents died when he was little, so he's never had anyone related by blood with him in a long time. His fellow knights from the Academy were the closest thing to family he's ever had. And Zelda.
Anyway, back on topic. Link has been avoiding the buildings so far during his stay here, choosing instead to make a camp up on the island. But now he's reconsidering the whole thing.]
Could someone tell me about the, uh... 'apartments' and the like? |
|
| [Action (closed to Zelda)]
[Link starts awake, and finds himself somewhere... unexpected.]
[The sky above, blue and wavering with light filtering down dimly, reminds him of nothing so much as the Chamber of the Sages - and with an almost physical shock, he concludes that he must be in the Sacred Realm.]
[Then... he really did fail.]
[But if this is an afterlife of sorts, then why are his clothes still torned and bloodied and soaking wet from the rain? The sword is still nearby, and the battered shield - the bow's string is still broken, the quiver is still empty. Setting a hand on his chest, he finds ridges of scar tissue - the injuries that he had succumbed to, now looking as if he had spent a good month or so recovering.]
[And what exactly is that... thing in the middle of the plaza he's now lying in?]
[Some time later, dried off, clothed, and settled at the Welcome Center, Link is finally ready to say hello to his fellow foreigners. The tattoo on the back of his left hand gets an uncomfortable look, and the StarFish Communicator (green, naturally) gets switched on.]
...Hi. Zelda said that I can use this to talk to everyone here, so I guess I should say hi to everyone. [He gives a sheepish little smile.]
I'm Link - or one of them, I guess, Zelda said my ancestor is here. [He does look rather bemused at that.]
Um... I guess that's all. [And off it goes.]

| [Hi Vatheon. Yup. This informant is on camera yet again and he's twirling around in his chair. He looks thoughtful this time, calm and reserved. He's holding a white king to his mouth and doesn't speak for quite a while.]
I always wonder what determines a society's legal bracket. From the world I came from, there was no historical evidence of a truly anarchy society. There was always some form of basic organization and authority. Whether you want to use the word king, ruler, leader, god, lord, prince, queen, majesty- it doesn't really matter. They all entail the same thing. They entail that the person in question is greater than you for some reason. Maybe they had the lucky draw of being born to a prestigious family or perhaps they had the wit of a thousand battles strong and knew how to deal with a society.
But what truly astounds me is the fact that Vatheon remains to be a peaceful society of well-mannered individuals who do not seek neither a leader to rule over them nor do any of them seem interested in being that very leader. Not to say that we live in a barbaric society in the city of Vatheon but it does make me wonder where legislation comes into place.
I mean, no one can truly punish any one here. The moral system is totally obscured by various worlds and opinions. Where murder is unacceptable on one world, it is a given on another. The same goes for everything else. And what of religion? What of God? What of death?
I still wonder if murder is truly a horrible thing in a world where you can't really die. Does it serve the same moral destruction that it might in some worlds- most worlds?
And anyway, who is to deliver the hand of punishment? Maybe that was Vatheon's plan all along. To create a society in which you are your own king. You are your own law. You serve your own justice. An eye for an eye sort of thing.
After all, who is to stop someone from having sex right out in the open on the fountain? Who is to stop someone from going into a crowded area with a loaded machine gun and going trigger happy on the citizens? Who is to stop someone from--
[He stops himself, having grown a bit more feverish and excited during this whole conversation, now clenching that king into his palm.]
Technically, nothing is illegal here. So who is to judge? Who is to punish? Does anyone even deserve being the one to determine what should be punished or not? It's all perspective. No one can say for sure that purple isn't blue. That kind of thing, right?
Eheh. I'm sorry Vatheon.
I know you're lost in your own perfect bubble of an on-going world of peace and utmost deliverance that could be from the gods themselves.
I shouldn't disturb such a peace.
[A heavy sigh and he gently sets the piece down onto a complicated board of chest- one that looks like quite a few pushed together. Well hey, quite a few people had gotten him game sets for Christmas. He had to use them properly.]
But then again, that's what psychological studies are for, aren't they? And I feel like I would only be neglecting my position of obligation in not pursuing such investigations.
I feel like a God lately. [He looks up into the camera and his mouth turns into a wicked grin.]

| [The video is on as it seems to be a little sickening. However there are constant flashes of red.] What on earth is this thing... Finding it on my person after I wake up from some strange sleep on the ground of all places! I feel outright violated that people did stuff to me while I was unconscious. So much for waking up with a kiss from a prince.
And where am I anyway? [The camera finally stops as it's pointed up at the coral.] Something as beautiful as this... This place is beautiful and strange at the same time. Absolutely magnificent. A wonderful stage for a new play to start.
[The camera seems to be set down as what appears to be a female face with yellow-green eyes and red glasses with bright red hair comes into view.] I wonder if any handsome young men would want to help out a beautiful maiden become accustomed to her new surroundings...
[Camera shuts off.]

|
| [A new connection appears on the network. Someone seems to be fumbling with the controls of their communicator and it takes them a few minutes to realize that it's on... and recording.]
Is... is anyone there? Can anyone tell just what exactly this place is? And why I appear to be in a dome underwater? I need to get back to the surface. Fast. [The young male voice coughs hard.] Ugh. I'm soaked to the bone.
[Another pause.]
...And has anyone seen a longsword with a blue-and-green handle? A large shield, too. |
