Day 3 - [Accidental Video]

[The face showing up on the screen has got to be familiar to a lot of people by now, what with two other versions of it running about. In fact, since Roxas is wearing a generic black shirt instead of his Organization coat, it would be easy to mistake him for Ventus. A frowning Ventus. He has a look of concentration, or possibly annoyance.

He's trying to do something with the communicator, but clearly he doesn't realize it's already recording.]

I thought she said there was a list of people... Stupid thing.

[ Not wanting to talk about it with a virtual stranger, he nods. ]

Yeah. Sorry about that.

[Well, he can understand that.]

...it's okay. This is- pretty weird, I guess.

[ He's grateful for that. ]

[ Unless you're the dark side of Sora's heart. But you don't seem malevolent at all. So, he remains baffled. ]

[Because if they're both connected to Sora somehow, it might make some vague sort of sense?]

[ Alertness immediately lights up Ven's eyes, and he nods slowly. ]

Yeah. I owe him a lot.

[ Oh, it'd make a boatload of sense. Again, Ven goes very still, tilting his head. ]

Well, he's... We're sort of related.

But, I don't remember him ever m- mentioning you. [He was going to say "meeting," but. Yeah.]

Like... brothers or cousins or something?

[ Cue a befuddled look. ]

I don't think he remembers me. We met a long time ago.

Oh. Well- I'm sure he'd want to meet you again. He's like that.

I see. [ 'Something'. Meaning... not by blood. Well, at least Roxas seems a decent guy. ]

We've spoken once. It's good to see him again.

[ And the derp can't keep himself from muttering under his breath: ]

He's sure grown since back then.

Spoken? Oh... Right, he's here, too.

[A slightly uneasy look at that, but he hurriedly shakes it off.]

Um, haven't you grown, too? [Since they have to be the same age.]

Yeah, he is.

[ Ven won't remark on it, but he'll mentally file that reaction away. What about that kid makes you afraid, Roxas? ]

Heh, not really. I've only been away from home a few weeks.

Sora was four when we met.

[Roxas blinks in surprise.]

Four?

Then you're- actually a lot older in our time? [If he has this time thing straight.]

[ He nods, and then shrugs. ]

I don't know. I'm not from your time.

And in mine, the last thing I remember... is defeating V--an enemy and going to sleep.

[ Nice save, self. :/ ]

I guess that's right.

[...well, he can't think of anyone whose name starts with V who'd be around back then. Er, besides you.]

...sounds promising for you still being around. [The winning part and all.]

[ Thankfully. Nobody else needs to know about Vanitas unless he shows up here. Light forbid that should ever happen. ]

Yeah. I just don't know when or how I'd have woken up.

[ Blinking, Ven sighs. ]

Have you heard of a guy named Terra by any chance? Tall, brown spiky hair, blue eyes? He wears funny pants that're really baggy.

I'm looking for him.

[He didn't realize it was a special kind of sleeping.]

No, but I just got here. I- haven't even run into my friend yet.

Um, but I'll let you know if I see him.

[ He frowns. ]

Oh.. sorry. Why didn't you ask for your friend if they're here?

[ he doesn't mean to pry, but. it's so simple. :/ ]

[ he gives a wry grin. ]

I'm pretty sure you know how to use this thing better than I do.

But I've not sen-- I mean I've been looking for him, and haven't found him anywhere.

[ He's not sensed Terra's odd and comforting presence of darkness mixed with light here yet. Riku's is very, very similar--but again, not the same. ]

You're kidding, right?

[Ven can't be worse with technology than he is. He tilts his head at that "sensed" slip, but... sometimes people with hearts just do that, he guesses.]

Well... Maybe you got here first.

Not really. We don't have anything like these things at home.

[ The closest he's come to high-tech was in Deep Space--where he'd spent more time breaking things than learning how they worked. Ooops? ]

Maybe. I'll have to keep looking. It'd be good to see him again, and Aqua wouldn't worry so much.

[ People with hearts? Maybe. It's possible that everyone has a little bit of magic in them. A nice thought. ]

Me neither.

[Breaking things. That sounds kind of familiar.]

Another friend of yours?

Really? Where do you come from? [ He hesitates only a moment. ]

We know other worlds exist because we're here. So what's yours like?

[ Roxas might find they have a similar temper, too. Short fuse. ]

Yeah. I've got a lot of friends. But Terra and Aqua are my best friends.

I'm from Twilight Town. It's- peaceful, I guess.

[A lot of friends. That part definitely sounds more like Sora.]

Really? Awesome! [ He'll need to visit. c: ]

I'm from the Land of Departure. It's peaceful, too.

Lots of mountains and lakes. [ You can make friends too, Roxas. :| ]
