Hello, Vatheon.
[Ky's carefully formal, seated at his desk with the SFC set up to create a very formal atmosphere.]
I'm Ky Kiske, and I don't represent any formal group. Nonetheless, I was hoping that you might take the time to answer a few questions. We all live in this place together, and I think there are some steps that can be taken to make this more of a community and a community where we can feel safer.
You can answer either verbally or with a written response of your own, but either way I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your answers with you, to determine what nuance there is.
[He pauses, then sends out the questions by text.]
1. What is the most severe crime where you come from?
2. What is your society's stance on murder?
3. What keeps you from murdering people? (Is it concern for the consequences or concern on a moral level?)
4. Have you ever found yourself on the "wrong side of the law"?
5. What is your experience with courts or judges?
6. Would you volunteer for jury duty if it was asked of you?
[He inserts a brief explanation of a jury here.]
7. Do you presume innocence or guilt in a case where someone has been accused of a crime?
[He switches back to video.]
Thank you for your time.

Well...it would be difficult to make the definition reliant upon who identified themselves as such, when they would no longer be able to say.
Given the nature of this place, however, it would seem reasonable to consider everyone kidnapped certainly as a person, and the natives as well.

You would of course be free to elaborate on any of your answers if the situation is more complicated.

1. What is the most severe crime where you come from?
I'm not sure. Killing is bad, but so is taking someone's heart.
2. What is your society's stance on murder?
If the one who died wasn't born in the Realm of Light, it's not even called murder, because they're not supposed to exist anyway. I don't think that's right.
3. What keeps you from murdering people? (Is it concern for the consequences or concern on a moral level?)
I don't have any reason to.
4. Have you ever found yourself on the "wrong side of the law"?
Not for any good reason.
5. What is your experience with courts or judges?
None, really.
6. Would you volunteer for jury duty if it was asked of you?
Maybe.
7. Do you presume innocence or guilt in a case where someone has been accused of a crime?
If I trusted the person doing the accusing, I think I'd believe them. Otherwise I'd need proof.

Thank you!
Is taking someone's heart different from killing them, where you're from?
...it's kind of complicated.

We can keep that in mind if it does happen and justice has to be pursued, though.
