Justice | [Video&Text]

Hello, Vatheon.

[Ky's carefully formal, seated at his desk with the SFC set up to create a very formal atmosphere.]

I'm Ky Kiske, and I don't represent any formal group. Nonetheless, I was hoping that you might take the time to answer a few questions. We all live in this place together, and I think there are some steps that can be taken to make this more of a community and a community where we can feel safer.

You can answer either verbally or with a written response of your own, but either way I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your answers with you, to determine what nuance there is.

[He pauses, then sends out the questions by text.]

1. What is the most severe crime where you come from?

2. What is your society's stance on murder?

3. What keeps you from murdering people? (Is it concern for the consequences or concern on a moral level?)

4. Have you ever found yourself on the "wrong side of the law"?

5. What is your experience with courts or judges?

6. Would you volunteer for jury duty if it was asked of you?

[He inserts a brief explanation of a jury here.]

7. Do you presume innocence or guilt in a case where someone has been accused of a crime?

[He switches back to video.]

Thank you for your time.

I believe that it's a little bit of both.

It is rather noble for the pursue of justice. However, justice isn't always fair.

That justice isn't fair? I suppose depending on how you look at it.

What I'm more interested in is what happens after justice is served.

Even at the risk of creating unhappiness for others?

I guess so...

The majority does always outweigh everything else. That's how it goes. [Although Chitose isn't very happy with what she said]

My, it seems that you're a lot braver than most people.

Most would not like to admit such things.

Even so, it takes a lot of strength to admit a mistake.

Unless you haven't met people who aren't like that.

It's remarkable to me. [i.e being around Mathias for a long time]

They put the blame on other people.

It's something that I have learned to deal with for a while.

[Pause]

However, once you grow use to such a thing, it isn't hard to adapt to .

Mind if I ask you something?

While I do believe that people can change for the better, do you believe even the worst can still change?

I suppose...

[There was a small sigh]

I only hope she will be able to find some peace.
